OWNED! You mad ethe same mistake as the recapper that wrote the previews.

Speculation on Cloak's finding them. I think a few things Alex is in the hideout somewhere sneaking around hidden places. Or with Chase semi-flirting with Nico... he might've kidnapped Chase somewhere and is posing as him. I like the latter better but I love Chase and hope he's around somewhere.

Assuming that ALL of the Minoru's magic follows the same rules as Nico's Staff, then I guess Alex could only use the Concealing Glamour once.

Well, the most obvious answer is that Chase's dark secret is that he was the traitor who left the note from Vol. 1 No. 6, and there had been two of them loyal to the Pride (not necessarily working together). After all, he was present inside Cloak -- ooh kinky! -- the first time around, when he sensed the evil presence. But somehow I doubt it's that simple.

If it's not Alex I hope Chase gets with Nico, it'd be so cool and I'd take her over Gert whose never consistently drawn. She's either really pudgey or somewhat goodlooking.
Big WTF?! to that!

Gert is easily the most attractive character in any mainstream comic i've read, (underage status notwithstanding, hehehe ;))

I could easily write a long-*** post justifying this. Question is, would anybody else care?

My brain is a little zonked right now, so i'll use the laundry-list approach, for now.

Gert, how do I crush on thee? Let me count the ways...

* her keen, understated fashion sense (sure, Nico gets points for making her own clothes DIY stylee, but if they end up looking like Hot Topic discount-bin cast-offs anyway, what's the ****ing point?)

* her realistic body image (probably resembles the average female Runaways reader more than any other character on the team; a little pudgy, but so what? more to love!)

* her sarcastic wit and casual eye-rolling disaffectedness

* her way of being assertive without being over-bearing

* her apparent bedroom talents; two words: "power vaccum" ;)

The question is... whose "The Kid". I asked Vaughan if we'd get any new members to the roster and he replied with "Stay Tuned" which actually means yes because otherwise he would've said something like "Geez we just added Victor" or something clever.

So Wolverine says there's a kid who can track them who do you think it is? And a reminder that Wolverine and Molly are gonna be in the same issue.

I'm already calling it, this early -- my guess is one of the supporting cast of NYX. Most likely Kiden, the girl with the time-stopping powers. X-23 would definitely have told Wolvie about them. The NYX kids are teenage runaways in New York, are they not? It's a perfect fit.

I think the "he" is a deliberate throw-off -- Iron Man and Wolvie are referring to two different kids.

My second guess? Franklin Richards. Why else would they be so hesitant to call in "the kid", if it's not somebody extremely powerful.

the kid is mentioned as a 'him', so that rules out all the NYX kiddies, sorry compound

I realized that -- read my second paragraph again, in the post you quoted ;)

Only Iron Man says "he/him". Wolverine always says the genderless "kid". So maybe they're referring to two different people?

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoliers)

I thought Iron Man was talking about Cloak (who doesn't look like a "kid" to me) and Wolverine was talking about someone else.

Can we have Vaughan on New Avengers now, please? Loved the edgy interplay between IM and Wolverine and the "Captain Flagpole." Ouch.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoliers)

I actually feel guilty about being into a Wolverine/Molly interaction. Because it's a big abusing of his character especially if this is post-HoM (Which it better not be) but Wolverine would not be called in for this. And it's really just an excuse to have him there.

But yeah, can't wait for Molly to see what a jerk he is. That'd be great if Wolverine like attacked them and Molly knocks him down and says something like, "And I used to like you. Yuck! You smell like a wet dog!"

Quick synopsis:

We start out with Wolverine. He does show up. BUT! Only in the first scene with Iron Man. They tried tracking Cloak, but that was when he left to L.A. So yes, the priest is being a character used. He helps out Cloak and Dagger with what they do. After bringing the kids to the priest (forgot the name), they see the video in question of Cloak's suppose attack, and then decide to invenstigate. Molly stays behind cuz an 11-year-old would screw up their undercover work at such late at night. Cloak gives them a glove he took from the police evidence locker to help the kids find the real attacker. So they split up into 2 teams. Gert and Vic, with Old Lace temporary turned into a small dog, and Chase and Nico. They think maybe with someone with MGH or something like it has maybe mimicked Cloak. Later on, Chase and Nico find someone that deals, and meat the guy. Gert and Vic run into Spider-Man, who had put a tracker into the glove, figuring that Cloak would have gone and done what he did, in getting help and taking the glove.

My shop gets the week advance previews on Thursdays. No revelation on the kid just yet, it seems.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoliers)

Another good issue. Some thoughts.

The guy Chase and Nico meet whose pushin' the "Cloak MGH". How'd he know about Nico? Well some think they're the Pride in disguise but I think it'd be a lot more fruitful if Alex set up connections in New York and started expanding his empire. Better than just Nu Pride running around disguised all the time. Which is the problem because ever since "Chamber" every character is Alex suddenly.

Chase/Nico... just love the chemistry. Chase? I just love this character. He's such a tool but he's more down to earth than the rest.

The Priest. Funny stuff when he didn't know the bible passage.

Spider-Man at the end. I have no reason to believe he is "The Kid" if he's a NA in New York he's obviously doing his part anyway. I can't wait for the kid revealation and the rest of this arc.
