I hate dairy products.
Wait.
I really don't.

I've been meaning write a massive rant about why car commercials piss me off for probably about a year now but I've never gotten around to it.Thinking of a peeve that needs to be said at some point during the day and then forgetting what it was by the time I get on here.
Ourchair, always the crowd pleaser.I let the little girls milk my private dairy all day long.

It's not those kind, it's the pretentious bull**** commercials that every car company puts out. When it comes to car commercials, there isn't even anything to say. They're so, so sad. It's like the people marketing them aren't even people. They treat every one of their own countless sales as some sort of event or special occasion. I heard a radio commercial a month or two ago saying something to the effect of "forget the first Robin of Spring, it's the Dodge Micro Mini No-Lease 30-Day Financing Extravaganza!". I felt like crying. Do they not realize how unholy that is? Can they sleep at night after writing and saying things like that?
Car commercials should die.

"What happens...when a car...is more than a car?"
What the **** does that even mean? You're selling a ****ing car, not a Philosophy class for retards.
I understand that a car is a big purchase and it's not the same thing as selling someone a jar of pickles, but apparently they expect their customer base to consist almost exclusively of douchebags.
A word to all car advertisers:
- Your car is not a force of nature comparable to some kind of animal or weather system. It's a stupid ****ing car.
- Your car is not a milestone in the history of human invention, sure to be chronicled in the annals of history alongside the wheel and the bendy straw. It's a stupid ****ing car.
- Your car does not present some complex philosophical quandary that great minds mus ponder. As far as the records show, Socrates never once pondered deeply whether the Honda Accord proved that you can in fact marry the worlds of craftsmanship and luxury. It's not deep, it's just a stupid ****ing car.
That's basically my problem with car ads.
The sheer douchebag-ness nauseates me.
Every time I see the new VW commercials (where it's like the late night talk show) I kick puppies.
I don't think it's just one series ... it feels like 90% of car ads that are aired.Thank you...
That series of commercials is enough to make my mom and I want to hurt people.
I hate car culture.
Not cars so much as the ways and means by which public infrastructure, lifestyle habits and geography is built around them.

As someone who does not drive, has no desire to learn how to drive, and is constantly being pestered about when he's going to get his license, I agree with the above statement.I hate car culture.

Don't get me wrong, I find the 'interior culture' fascinating, such as the aspects of tinkering and modification and customization which hobbyists engage in, the history of the racing sport itself, the role they play in North American culture and popular mythology, etc.Hobby car culture on the other hand. I love listening to people talk about the old days and drag racing. My uncle has a myspace dedicated to drag racing culture in Austin back to the 40 and 50's. Pretty interesting stuff about how the whole thing evolved.
I'm proud to not own a car, so don't even joke.Zombipanda said:You're just pissed off cuz you don't have a car.

But I dislike the way we incorporate it into our life in such as the negative effects they have on community, the way they shape urban planning and the use-zoning of land, etc.
