Pet-Peeve Thread 4: More peeve than you can handle.

Yes, I'm sure the hockey players are going to be scared of body checks from a couple of free skaters.

a cross check is when you hit them in the back with your stick parallel to the ground

and if they're playing on an outdoor rink in a park they're not hockey players, they are probably 16 year olds with as much experience playing proper hockey as anyone in a one-mile radius

This isn't necessarily true, icetime is paid for and reserved by league/team sponsors. Free skate is usually only available when there is a repetitive hole in the booking schedule.

Well atleast in the community centre I used to work at, tax dollars (actually it was mostly money taken from the province's cut of casino profits) only paid for a portion of the bank book. Several parts of the centre had to bring in money: the bingo hall, the racquet centre, hockey rink, lounge, etc. to keep the centre afloat.

If you want free-skating whenever you want, I imagine you can find a local park that has converted it's field into an outdoor rink, lots of parks around where I live do this.

:lol::cry:

Exactly.

That's what the rink is.

Oh.....

well then these 16 people hockey matches really shouldn't be taking up the entire rink then.

you know what this needs

a couple of good ol' fashioned cross checks

what a bunch of *******s

****ing Canada.

Yes, and no one watches them or pays attention to them. From my experience, hockey is about as popular in America as soccer in America.

Which is to say, not at all.

Not even close. Golf CRUSHES Hockey in the states. Crushes it.

The correct order is football, baseball, NASCAR (blame the south), basketball, golf, tennis, soccer, lacrosse, foreign soccer, a squirrel riding a little water ski, flugtag, arena football (2009 season cancelled, but still more popular than hockey), and then hockey. Hockey doesn't even make it onto Sportscenter unless they have a gimmick game like the "Winter Classic" in Wrigley Field last week.

which is funny, cus as bad as they suck, the Blue Jackets sell out every game.

Ballet is not a sport.

That does not make it less awesome though.

Also, the WWF should be in there.

Don't forget: "Wrestling's not FFFFFAAAAAKEEEEE!!!"
