Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

Not to burst your bubble, but don't be surprised if you don't get it at least for a few years. Phone and cable companies are notorious for not wanting to spend the money to wire certain areas if they don't think it will be worth their money, even if it's little work.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

I don't have the virtual console either

But I did unlock the Nebula level in Excite Truck

Feel these nipples, they can cut glass

I beat Zelda too, I'll go post my time in that thread

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

By the way, all of you with Wii's out there need to run to the virtual console immediately if what i just read is true; namely they just released the SuperNES Zelda game: A Link to the Past?!!! AWESOMEXORZ!$^(!%)^!%

go get it. now.
Ah, must've been one released today.

And speaking of the V.C., it is true that you can either use the classic controller, gamecube controller, or even the Wii controller. They show you which games can be played by what controller.

The games I'm really waiting for is Megaman Games (SNES, N64) and Mario Party games, besides the Zelda ones, of course.

What about superman 64?

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

I don't even care for the character. No thanks.

yes but even if you liked superman you would say no. That game sucks maybe even the worst game ever made!!!!!!

Actually its official, Superman 64 is the worst game ever made. It beat out the reigning Champ, the E.T. game. The E.T. game sucked because there were a bunch of developement problems like trying to make it run on a system it wasnt intended to. Almost every copy sold was returned, they barried them all in the Nevada Desert. Superman 64 got the title because there was no reason why it should be that bad. Some game shop have copies on displayed as the worst game ever. The more you know.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

Mass quantities of the ET game were buried in the desert because no one wanted to buy them.

The bubble has been burst.

Reality setting in.....oh god it hurts.....

Ok heres a question: If I was to bring my Wii to a house with DSL could I download what I want and save it to the wii or a sd card? Do I have to be online to play the games?

It saves the games to the Wii's internal memory. I doubt you have to be online to play them.

No, you don't have to be online to play them. You are indeed correct, sir.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

Heres a little info on a possible wiimote update.

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/games/new-wiimotes-on-the-way-231036.php

So I rented Red Steel last night. I wanted to get Warioware but Blockbuster didn't have it in yet. While not a bad game per say, Red Steel has it's fair share of problems.

First the good stuff.
The graphics are nothing special but taking into consideration it's on the Wii its not too bad, it's even pretty nice in certain areas. The FPS style of game-play is a little different with a wiimote but about an hour into playing I got the feel for it and the aiming, as it turns out is pretty darn accurate. The sword fights are pretty cool too but not quite as cool as they should have been. Still it's a nice change of pace between all the guns and bullets to have a little duel.

The bad stuff is pretty annoying. First almost every character in the game speaks either japanese or really bad english or a combo of both. Almost eveything is repeated over and over.
"You're dead"
"Murderer!"
"Just you and me now"
It gets old fast. The cut scenes a crappily pieced together and look like paper cutouts on badly drawn backgrounds. Not cool. Not cool at all.
One of the worst things is you can only carry two weapons at one time, including your sword, that is. While you always have your sword you can't just pull it out and slice away at bad-guys, you can only use it as a melee attack and when a duel goes down. So two weapons is pretty much it, and there's nothing too interesting as far as weapons selection goes. Keep in mind I only got through the forth level so there may be some cool stuff left to find.

Overall I'd say it's worth the rental. I was not having any fun at first and I was really disappointed, but after getting used to the wiimote controls it really is a good time. If you are a FPS conisuer and have played a great one recently it may be a little bit harder to get into Red Steel.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

I FINALLY got to play a Wii the other day.

It kicks ***.

I played WiiSports and had so much fun playing tennis and baseball. The only reason I stopped is because I had to leave to play a football match for my team.

Stupid real sports.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

Has anyone else downloaded Super Mario World?

How do I get back to the game's main title screen when I start the game? There is room for 3 game saves and I want to set one up for my son so he has his own but every time I start it it's at the last place I left off.

Oh, and if my family doesn't get me Wii Play for my birthday...well, let's just say I might not have a family much longer.

Re: Nintendo Wii discussion - post your friend codes

Meh. So I got really high and played Wii Sports at my buddy's house.... and after, I decided I needed to get one of these, but there aren't any.... anywhere....

That blows.
