Avengers New Avengers: Revolution discussion (#26-31; spoilers)

Re: New Avengers discussion (#26+; spoilers)

This is one of the rare times I agree with Joe Kalicki

Who will always be Joe Kalicki in my mind, not just Joe

i don't understand why with all the continuity errors. No more xorneto? How can you say no to say? wolverine being a lupine? that is stupidest idea ever! and maybe jean would only die and come back once.

Re: New Avengers discussion (#26+; spoilers)

It also fits in nicely with some of the rumors of the Spider-Man reboots.

Re: New Avengers discussion (#26+; spoilers)

Sound like it might be time for a spin-off thread called "How Would You Fix/Retconn/Reboot Marvel's 616?" ....

Jean has never died and come back, outside of the Phoenix: End Song mini-series where she dies a billion times in one issue alone.

So, wait, everyone keeps thinking she's dead, but she's actually been replaced by a clone/kept in a statis pod underwater/hiding/in the White Hot Room or whatever the hell it was called, and she's only actually really physically been dead a few times?

Yeah, she's only been dead this last time when Morrison killed her, and then in the Phoenix mini Wolverine killed her about 100 times.

Re: New Avengers discussion (#26+; spoilers)

As E always says, it makes sense for Jean/Phoenix to come back from the dead. That's what Phoenixs do. That's what she should do. It's the clones from alternate futures and **** that ruins it.

Exactly.

I hate bringing back characters from the dead as much as the next guy, but the very definition and purpose of the Phoenix (in mythology, even, which is what the character is based off of course) the core of the thing is that it dies and is reborn. So I don't have a problem when it or Jean Grey come back from the dead.

Re: New Avengers 31-Marvel's next big event...

Tony Stark is going to be revealed to have hired Electro to break the villains out of the Raft, and is somehow behind everything since?

while under the influence of chick-Ultron. It's brilliant!

Chick-Ultron is the reason for Civil War! And World War Hulk! And the Green Bay Murders!

Which might be cool if it had been set up at all.

What an out that would be. They retcon everything since Extremis.

Re: New Avengers 31-Marvel's next big event...

If they had to blame something, I'd say blame Extremis. It would be pretty neat. And that means Warren Ellis is behind everything in 616 now.

Ellis and Brubaker should be in charge. That's how things SHOULD go. But that will never happen.

Re: New Avengers 31-Marvel's next big event...

Since it seems like we're discussing general big events in here, how did House of M contribute to Civil War? Other than keeping the mutants out of it (and the general outcome would've been the same anyway), I didn't see a link at all. Am I just dense?

Was House of M supposed to contribute to Civil War?

They might claim yes, but I doubt it really did. Someone (Bendis) thought of a way to tie it all together, so they're going with it. They will try to claim it was the intent all along, but that will be a lie.
