Exactly. He did it with Cage.

So he can do it to all the others.

He chooses not to. Instead of either treating them with love (as he has done with Cage) or ignoring them completely, he seems compelled to just blow 'em up.

It's cruel.

Because those characters, to someone, mean something to them. And to piss over them with such contempt... I just find it sad, and a little bit sick.
As long as its Alpha Flight (and Northstar), I say GOOD! They don't deserve no honorable death or anything like that. Just kill 'em off!

He doesn't have use for the characters in the stories he's writing. He can't make every character cool. And I'm sorry "death" should never be an option to some people, but it should happen. It makes stories a bit more interesting. I don't think Carnage is gone... but for the sake of argument, let's say he is... Pick up and read the issue again. Carnage's demise is still awesome. What do you want? Bendis to make up some obscure villain just for the kill or for the kill to not exist in the first place? I say it's fine the way it is.

That's exactly what I want. Because if he invented new characters to continually kill off like that, these moments would have meaning or, people would realise how boring and stupid these moments are.

The only reason people care in any fashion when Bendis ****s around with a character is because of the character's pre-existing continuity and how Bendis has messed with it. The characters are brought in with no set up, no definition, nothing - They are extras, bit parts (which is fine if they are returned in the condition they were given or improved upon, but they are routinely disposed of). If he was forced to invent those bit parts from scratch, you'd see that he'd be writing very differently.

It's lazy to rest on continuity to tell your story because it means the reader must be a 'fanboy' and already know continuity.

It's one of the reasions the Ultimate line exists.

I know. It seems biased. I loved Carnage.....

It's not biased. I like Carnage too.

OH YEAH! I SAID IT!!

Honestly, I don't understand why people hate Carnage so much. I always liked Carnage because he's not like the other villains. Other villains want money, or power, or world domination. That's typical villain goals.

Carnage just wants to kill as many people as he possibly can, and that's what makes him cool. He's a psychotic serial killer with a symbiote. We have people like Cletus Cassidy in the real world, which is kinda scary, so why can't we have a super powered psycho killer in comics?

My point exactly. I can't wait for Carnage to come back.

Re: New Avengers series discussion (spoilers)

IMO New Avengers is not so bad. Even though I don't like Bendis, still is one of the good comics I read montly, but in the 16 issue he just pushed it too far. To much splash pages and the story almost didnt move forward. Everything that happened could be told in 5 pages. Sometimes he just goes and goes and goes with the dialogues and the action is minimal, that just pisses me off. I understand how some people may dislike the whole "Bendis sucks" "JMS is lame" and every other writer-bashing post. I kinda agree with them, i dont know, if yout gonna say something bad, say what you think could be changed, not "you suck"

...

I don't know what was the purpose of my post, but it was bugging me since i read New Avengers 16. A little less conversation a little more action please! Like you know... that Elvis song...and...uh... i'm off.

Where the members of Alpha Flight really disposed of so easily? I thought Sasquatch was umber tough and that the girl Aurura had like near light speed quickness. Oh well I guess everyone has their bad moments.

Last time I remember, Aurura hasn't been in seen in quite a long time. I haven't read the issue yet though, so maybe she's in it.

The Collective, prior to crashing, unleashes it's most powerful weapon - THE PLOT HOLE, upon which characters helplessly fall into.

I just got an idea, the energy came from the mutant powers lost during Wanda's hissey fit. And this new enemy looks like the human torch. Now, I'm not sure, but wasn't Vision's earlier body that of the Human Torch from WW2. So the power could of been embodied in the newly revived Vison?

For my part, the reason I keep poking my head back in to New Avengers is that I WANT to read an Avengers comic. I liked most of the first 500 issues (well, there were some serious clankers in there), and I keep hoping the new comic will pick up the SPIRIT of the title, even if it has new faces that I'm not all that fond of.

Alas.

So I get stuck in a cycle of ignoring it for a couple of issues, reading about some plot point that sounds like it could be, ya know, an Avengers story, picking it back up and then getting annoyed again. Bah.

What she said.

But in all honesty, I come back in here because my fact-opinions are so important, that if you don't hear them, I'm terrified you might lose your way and become a destitute prostitute.

And I don't see the need for that to happen if I can stop it with a post.

I do this for the good of all.

You just have to do what I did. Don't look at it as an Avengers comic. Look at it like an elaborate storyboard from a Michael Bay film.......starring some Marvel characters. That way you're geeked about the action....and not let down by plotholes. :D
