Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline

Episode 13, BOOM, Coulson says he killed Ward last year. So episode 9 and 10 must be happening on 2016

The Coulson/May flashback from last week's AOS was set "some time ago". Do we have anything else to go on for a date? Do we know how long May and Coulson have been friends? Or when May and Andrew got married?

Not as far as I know. The MCU wiki says that Garner and May's marriage lasted for 'a few years' before the incident in Bahrain, which took place in 2008. Not sure where they got the 'few' number from but assuming it's correct information, I'd say that places it at least two-three years before Bahrain incident. Then if we assume May and Garner dated for at least half a year to a year before marrying, that'd put this flashback at *roughly* the years 2004 or 2005.

It's late though so I may be getting some math wrong. Also, I'm really grasping for straws because I'm using a relatively ambiguous quote from the MCUwiki. Otherwise, I don't think there's been any real information on how long they were married. I'd still pin it at sometime in the mid-2000s even without the quote as May and Garner were talking about having children in 2008, which suggests that they haven't been together for an exceptionally long time.

The "Playground" (the current SHIELD base) is located in the United States according to the MCU wiki, and it was snowing during the episode ... could we move S4 back to late-2016? It would line up with the whole "year ago" thing with Ward's death.

Yeah, I need to get caught up on past month's episodes, and make several corrections, as well as update for GotG vol 2 Prelude/adaptation comics.

I was always under the assumption that it was a fake window with simulated weather. Seeing as it would be bright during events that took place at night in past episodes and the fact that it is an underground base

In the Season 3 finale the window is broken and climbed out of (to get onto a quinjet flying outside), so it can't be a fake window. In that same episode you see that the top of the zephyr hangar looks like pavement. My guess, based the design of Coulson's office, is that it's built in and underneath an old abandoned factory somewhere in the northeast and the hangar is under a parking lot.

You are absolutely right, I forgot all about that. My fault.

In the most recent AoS episode, we see a date on
Jemma's tombstone
of Nov 8 (no year). If the circumstances surrounding
Jemma's death
are related to a previous episode, it may alter the timeline a bit.

Hopefully it took place during 2x06-08 or 3x06-10, that way it only serves to give us more precise dating.

Just out of curiosity, how did you come to place 2x06-2x08 between Daredevil 1x08-09? Was it just off of air date?

Not air dates, but internal dating of Daredevil and the implied dating of those AoS episodes. I do need to rewatch AoS and correct placements for Seasons 1 and 2 (and maybe 3-4).

I re-watched Doctor Strange last night and noted that Mordo mentions it's been months since he's left the path during the last end credits scene.

Yeah if it wasn't for Shield's awkward references and whatnot, my personal guide would be far easier to utilize because of how easy everything else fits together. Shield just makes it overly complicated. I only ever give out a guide with everything minus the ABC stuff and then if they want more, then they get the fully complicated one.

I'll be doing update on this over next week or so, for all new AoS episodes, the GotG Prelude (adaptation of GotG film), and Spider-Man: Homecoming - Prelude (adaptation of Spidey related elements of CA - Civil War).

I'm bummed the Preludes all seem to just be adaptations of the films now, no new original stories. That might be a dictate from Marvel Studios/Feige, who don't want the comics to possibly tread on ground they may cover in future films, thus limiting the Preludes to now being adaptations.

Course, the Infinite comics tend to be original tales so there is still that.

It's nice to see that the first issue of the Spider-Man: Homecoming Prelude included a couple of new scenes into the Captain America: Civil War story! :)

The Thor: Ragnarok Prelude TPB listing is up at Amazon. Looks like it's four issues, and includes an adaptation of The Incredible Hulk after all these years.

Also, there is no infinite comic listed for the Thor: Ragnarok Prelude TPB, and Amazon no longer has the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Prelude Infinite comic stated that there will not be an infinite comic for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Looks like there will be four adaptations and zero infinite comics for the 2017 films.
