Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 3)

See, that's weird to me. Thanos, Doctor Strange, Mordo, Peggy Carter, Black Bolt, Maria Rambeau, Christine Palmer and Wanda Maximoff all look like their Earth-199999 variants.

Technically speaking, we have no idea what the Earth-199999 versions of Reed and Charles look like since The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in an alternate universe, and even then, their appearance could be explained as notable branching in the timeline.
That's true but I guess it's not too different than some of the 12041 or even 616 characters being based on their MCU counterparts. To an extent, 838 seems like a mishmash of sorts, considering Professor X is partially based on his 92131 counterpart.

So, it is not a divergent of 199999, but has some shared aspects.

My thoughts exactly

Alright finally got around to making various little edits to the timeline that I have let pile up over the summer, I apologize for taking so long on it. Most notable is the addition of Earth-17516 as the timeline where Earth was destroyed and then just various typos and small errors. As always everyone's attention to the details has made this timeline just a little bit better once again. Thank You!

@Starvel

I suggest moving these to a bit later than April 2014.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2x20: "Scars" (0:00:00 - 0:02:23)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2x01: "Shadows" (0:02:49 - 0:41:20)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2x02: "Heavy Is the Head"

In 2x01, Coulson says the Bus has been gathering dust for a few months, and the last time they used it was in 1x22. Also, in 2x02, they mention it's been 18 days since the last time Coulson drew symbols on the wall, so it's probably been a few intervals of a few weeks since he started.

I think putting it under ????, and before the Endgame 2014 and Guardians of the Galaxy events, would be a good spot.

Alright I can make that change easy!

The Marvel Database is treating the whole Earth-TRN414 thing like a fucking disaster.

Earth-10005 is the main starting point of the timeline from Ancient Egypt to 1973 regardless of the timeline changes that bring about Earth-17315 post-DoFP. It's NOT "Earth-10005 Revised". That's not how reality numbers work.

I think the timeline diverges earlier than Wolverine's arrival in 1973, since we have stuff like Wade Wilson in Origins, who should be born earlier than 1973, while his new counterpart would have been born later than the original.

Sure, we could say they are just two different people that both have the name Wade Wilsom, both look like Ryan Reynolds and both eventually get similiar healing powers, but I don't like that idea one bit.

TRN414 should be considered 17315, since the Deadpool 3 director says that Logan is canon and that they have no intention of retconning it. So, it's different than other futures that are considered only possible futures. Unless they retcon do it, the Logan movie will happen in a few years in Deadpool's timeline.

As for the 10005 designation, the Marvel movies aren't always consistent with comic/handbook designations. It is no different from MCU being 616. I don't take that too seriously.

However, and I know this is a bit controversial, but I do think the OG 10005 was overwritten by 17315. It's not like the Marvel Handbook rules proclaim that timelines can't be overwritten. I had a question about Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine comic to Marvunapp.com's Snood and he mentioned how timelines can merge/overlap etc. due to time travel. Really, you can ask him yourself.

One could make the argument that 17315 is a continuation of 10005 due to this reason if they want to reconcile the 10005 thing from DP3.

Counterpoint: Earth-18315.

Also, I'm starting to think that Deadpool & Wolverine prevented the Logan/The New Mutants future (Earth-17315) to be consistent with that being specifically noted as a "dark future" that was first seen in Logan. Previously, that designation seemed redundant because there would be a timeline where every X-Men film happens except Logan and another where every film including Logan occurs, and that just seems pointless. Now, we have Logan tying into the present day story directly and there's leeway for it to no longer happen, somewhat.

I can somewhat accept the chronology of:
Earth-10005 (+Earth-18315)
Earth-66250
Earth-41633
Earth-17315
Earth-10005-Revised

Of course, this certainly wasn't intended by the movie probably, since they've said they're not changing Logan. I just think Earth-17315's status as a potential future makes sense now. I mean, look at it this way. If "Earth-10005" was destroyed in 2024, Logan couldn't happen in 2029. Perhaps the fact that they're in the past with Laura-17315 means they could prevent it. Just my thoughts.

For what it's worth, according to the user Copeinator here, the reason why Logan was given a different designation is because its premise of no mutants having been born in 19 years condradicts DOFP's ending. But with DP3's stance that Logan is indeed canon, that can simply be considered a continuity error and nothing more now.

Logan's timeline may or may not be the EXACT same one as DP's current one. It might be slightly changed now due to the 'Worst Wolverine' and Laura's inclusion. If there was an alt. Wolverine somewhere else during Logan, would the universe have really started dying after Logan-17315's death? However, IDK if this would necessarily be a divergent. There is a rule in Marvel (it's been referenced in a few comics) that states that small changes get absorbed to the timeline and do not diverge a reality. This might arguably apply here as well depending on how much of an impact the Alt-Wolverine and Laura would cause (I am guessing not a huge impact since Logan movie is most likely still canon).

Alternatively, 'The Worst Wolverine' and future Laura might always have been there BTS in the Logan movie. Since, Logan's death sent shivers down the timeline, I suppose maybe one could argue that Logan's eventual death destroying the universe was prevented before his death actually occured. Meaning no timeline changes or divergents. This theory assumes Paradox and TVA aren't omniscient when it comes to the Foxverse timeline and did not know the Alt. Wolverine and Laura were present in TRN414/17315 during the events of Logan.

Either way, IMO, the Logan movie will happen in TRN414 unless the filmmakers change their minds. Since that movie was well-received, that's likely why they don't want to make it non-canon.
