I thought that was a great episode. We didn't get many answers, but we still got something. Lost is starting to get better and better.
It was better than most of the Season 3 episodes so far, for sure.

Stop knocking Season 3. As a whole, I've found it just as enjoyable as the first two seasons. I just think it's fallen victim to poor advertising, sloppy scheduling, and fans expecting too much at once. Be patient and the fog will clear... I have hope for the future of Lost.

You make a good point, DiB. I do think that Locke felt like he was decieved and would definitely not feel any remorse towards the Others if given the chance... I'm sure this goes for all of the Lostaways. Thing is, from what we know of Locke's past, he's the farmer, not the hunter. I think that's the stuff they put that to in one of his episodes...
I agree with you on the flashbacks front, but to say that the show is no longer close and what not is relative. They've sacrificed that for storytelling and progression. While it is few and far between, there have been more answers so far in Season 3 than there has been in either of the first two seasons. I'm beginning to think that this show won't win with fans because they are too critical of it.
Upon further review on youtube Locke does indeed push patch

Only being honest Goody. The fact is, Season 3 has definitly fallen short compared to the first two seasons. It has nothing to do with expecting too much at once (we've already been waiting over three years). It has to do with telling a good story, and some of the Season 3 episodes just haven't done so.
Not to say it isn't still a good show, but it definitly isn't living up to its potential as it once was. I just hope it improves to its previous level of quality before too long. Either way, I'll be watching to the end, as I love the show, the characters, and have invested too much time and energy not to see it concluded.
True, but that doesn't mean a farmer won't kill a wolf to protect his flock and/or crop.
(Read between the lines on that one, please).
Works both ways, Goody. Sometimes I don't think you're critical enough. Kinda blinded by your love for the show, almost. Not saying thats the case, just a possibility.
Either way, its still a good show, just not as good as it was. There's no disputing that in my opinion.
I agree with all of that. Well said DiB.
For now, we've done away with a lot of the stuff that made the show suffer before, such as Michael (The guy was a horrible, one-sided actor. Sorry.)
As the second season continued, I had had enough of it) and the Hatch (With the exception of the numbers and Desmond, nothing really interested me about the Hatch... Purple sky?
I admit it was well put... BUT you haven't convinced me that Season 3 has been lacking.
We've got so many new angles to the show now that it is impossible to end tragically in a cancellation due to the fact that the writers don't know where the show is actually going.
For now, we've done away with a lot of the stuff that made the show suffer before, such as Michael (The guy was a horrible, one-sided actor. Sorry.), Ana Lucia, the annoying banter between Jack and Locke (It was really well written in the first season... As the second season continued, I had had enough of it) and the Hatch (With the exception of the numbers and Desmond, nothing really interested me about the Hatch... Purple sky? The Others lost communication with the outside world? Who cares... Penny is on her way.)... Now, with Season 3 we've got a direction, these new angles that I alluded at before (The Others being introduced) and we've even got room to take a break and enjoy the characters (Tricia Tanaka Is Dead was the most fun episode I've probably ever watched outta Lost). On the grand scheme of things, I don't see how Season 3 is lacking, whether I'm not being too critical of the show or not... I do admit the focus in the beginning of the season on the Others was a bit too much at once and compromised some of the characters which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but in a lot of ways it was a necessary evil.
The only thing I can see wrong with Season 3 so far (besides what I had mentioned before... In case you don't remember, the poor advertising and the long break that was maybe too long) is Nikki and Paulo... And Alex. Don't much care for her so far into this season.
