Lost *spoilers*

So did anyone else do the math and figure out that Juliet has been on the island since right around 9/11/01? I'm wondering if that's going to figure into the show at all, especially since just after they told us the exact date these episodes are taking place in, they give us an exact date reference that corresponds with a date that everybody in the world knows/remembers?

Also, could the pictures of the deteriorated womb be from one of the Others? This would help explain their obsession with children, them possibly being unable to have children.

And finally, an awesome fan theory for all of you to chew on. I particularly like the connection he makes with the room that Karl was in and "The Room" that Walt was forced to go into. Could they be one and the same? Hmm...

That. Was. Awesome.

Desmond is easily becoming one of the most interesting characters on the show... He is definitely a great addition to the Lostaways. I was weary about where his development would go, but this episode eleviated any doubt - it was amazing.

Still, in typical Lost fashion, there are more questions...

- If he went to the past, how does he recognize the future?

- Who was that old lady, really?

- Because Desmond altered things, does that mean that Penelope isn't actually looking for him? And that Jack doesn't ACTUALLY recognize him? Where do these events fall?

- Is Desmond only going to the island now and competing in that around-the-world race because he has to? Because it is his destiny?

- Is it a question of will Charlie die or WHEN Charlie will die?

That's all I gotta say for now. That was deep... EASILY one of the best episodes in a while.

The waiters stepped up to the table and laid a covered dish before each of the five who were forced to dine there tonight. Each waiter took hold of the cover to their dish and lifted, revealing the large baked crows within.

Desmond... I hope he's not a time traveller. That would just be stupid.

Still stupid, IMHO. I still don't think Desmond is a time-traveler. It's too convoluted.

Are you guys still on this time travel nonsense!? There is no time travel, none of that nonsense. There is no hints to it and wouldn't fit the feel of the series. You make too much of it.

OK, let's clear some things up: Desmond is only precognative. He's not a time traveller.

PRecog

Timetravel

Two different things, Desmond is now a precog

Meanwhile, Jack of Hearts sat back on the patio sipping a margarita with a gigantic smile on his face knowing that he and Desmond both had something in common. They saw the future.

Sorry guys, but after being shouted down about my time travel theories earlier in the season, I can't resist making you eat those ill-considered words. To be sure, some of you were less hot-headed than others, but the passion with which some of you stomped on my theories was astounding.

We don't know it's time travel at all, honestly. There's a number of other options out there.

I simply think he's a nutcase. He didn't travel through time, evident by the old lady talking to him, he was merely hit on the head, and got a concussion. Then, he relived some of his past memories, hence why some of them didn't happen (ie the bar).

Correct.

I hate people who think they are the only ones right.

You say this with every character in every episode...

- If he went to the past, how does he recognize the future?

He didn't relive the past, he merely relived his memories, that was all in his head.

- Who was that old lady, really?

His subconcious, I thought that was evident.
- Because Desmond altered things, does that mean that Penelope isn't actually looking for him? And that Jack doesn't ACTUALLY recognize him? Where do these events fall?

????

You think too much, K.I.S.S., Keep It Simple Stupid, common saying, you should look into it.

- Is Desmond only going to the island now and competing in that around-the-world race because he has to? Because it is his destiny?

All to save Charlie? I doubt it. He relived his memories, and now think he has a purpose in saving Charlie, that's all

He's a nutcase.

Again, you say it with every episode.

I thought it was all evident that it wasn't actually him in the past when Desmond said himself, "I'm unconscious." And said to the woman that she was his subconscious?

Not only that, but if he did time travel, wouldn't he not know how to save Charlie the second time? All he would know was Charlie died by a lightning stirke, not by drowning

I say those kinds of things alot, yes, but last night was different. Throughout the second season, flashbacks and even some episodes were lackluster... Now, each episode is a movie and all of the characters are a whole lot more interesting. Locke and Desmond mostly. As of right now, they are my two favorite characters.

Agreed. It wasn't time-travel, it was a dream/reliving of his past. The fact that it was altered in some way from the actual past doesn't mean he traveled through time.

Huh, see, everyone I talk to thinks he time travelled. I'm trying to remember if he had the photo before. You guys keep talking about the bar thing, but he did remember it right, just at the wrong time and this time he saved the bartender. I agree that it's more likely, that Des is precognetic and only travelled in time in his mind only. With that said, we still don't know what caused the world to turn purple when he switched the failsafe.

Seriously though, I'm more interested in next week. The meaning of Jack's tattoo, the Missing return, and one of the other big questions will be answered.

Kicks the chair out from under Jack of Hearts. Jerk. You were ALMOST right.

When he dropped back last night I told my wife "Oh GAWD! I'll never hear the end of this now." She was like "What?" Then I explained the Ultimate Central Time Travel thing that I (and others) had shot down. She laughed at me and said that's what you get for thinking you know everything.

I still think it's more than what we think. I only believe his consciousness traveled back. The old woman in the shop was most likely some sort of Paradox elemental/spirit there to obviously prevent him from changing the future.

And Charlie's gonna die. Sweet.

I agree. No time travel actually occured... Although, Desmond thought it did.

Let's face it - time travel isn't capable without a flying delorean.
