So I started watching season 2 and so far it's just as awesome as the last set. A Warlord episode followed by a Viking Prince episode. Sweet! The Legion of Doom. Awesome! Stargirl, STRIPE, Mr. Terrific! Sex, violence, stabbing, frying. . .

The only thing I don't like so far is Grodd's voice. A rare misstep for Andrea Romano.

You mean season three. I know, it's the second DVD package, but that's because they bundled seasons one and two into the same DVD package.

I'm okay with the voice. It's nothing too special, and I'm sure we all expected Grodd to have a more 'unusual' sounding voice, but I think taking the opposite direction with Powers Boothe making him sound as 'human' as possible works in its favor by making the concept of a super-intelligent mad scientist gorilla seem more credible.

In other words, by ignoring the absurdity of Grodd, they make him more real. Which is interesting, considering how 'beastly' Clancy Brown can sound sometimes as Lex.
 
I get what they were trying to do with Grodd, I just don't like it. As smart as he's supposed to be, he's still a beast. He still kills people and eats them. He should sound like a monster. I think I'd like the way it sounded to have him with this really deep, growly voice speaking calmly, cooly and intelligently on the same level as Lex.
 
Meh. If he can't sound like a monster I want him to sound like the astronaut monkey from the Simpsons.

I feel that it is my duty to randomly bump this thread and sing the praises of Timm's JLU.


This happens every few months or so when my Blockbuster Online queue is almost empty and I'm in between shows to rent. Like moths to a flame I instinctively flock to Justice League Unlimited.

The show is so perfect on almost every level. I honestly cannot think of a single episode that I did not like. God I love this show. And Giganta.

So yeah....JLU is still better than any superhero cartoon you can throw at it.
 
I always why other cartoons arent picking themselves up to JLU strandards? Hell the timmserve has continually raised the bar for 14 years. Can't Marvel get the damn picture?
