Justice League: To the silver screen!

Don't sweat it.

I thought it was confirmed too.

And then Rupert Evans screen tested to play Superman.

Then ComingSoon.Net said it was CGI.

Then Hollywood Reporter said it was live-action.

If there has been a confirmation then I missed it.

Of course, 'screen-test' might mean they are also going for motion capture a la Beowulf & Polar Express.

Whatever. We'll know what it is eventually.
I heard it was CGI, maybe a mix who knows

It also said that only the Big 7 would be in it as in:

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Green lantern - the black guy
Aquaman
Flash - barry
martian manhunter

It also said that Routh wanted to be in it but WB said no because they considered the superman franchise to have it's own canon universe apart from the JLA one they were creating.

EDIT: also it said that the movie was so far live action and any talks stating otherwise are false...for now.

Even if it's CGI, they'll still be scanning them Beowulf-style, and even if they weren't, come on, how is a 22-year-old going to sound anything like Batman?

Voice acting. Just needs to make his voice deeper and darker for batman , talk normal for Bruce and it could work

Check the Beowulf thread. The guy playing him looks nothing like his CGI counterpart. All they need is the facial captures for the models. The form and skin graphs can be made to look like anyone.

And for the voice thing? That's why its voice acting. There are plenty of people with voices that don't match their age or look. Look at Phil Lamar. Does he really look like he should be doing GL? Or even better and gayer example.....Clay Aiken.

Yeah....

I personally don't think a 22 year old should be playing Batman.....but if he's got the voice and chops.....who am I to deny talent?

Doom agrees with mole:shock:

"CBR News received the following email from a source who would prefer to remain anonymous ...

I read the Reel Wrap Up of 12/5 and saw that the LA Times was reporting that Scott Porter is set to be "Big Blue" in George Miller's film. A friend of mine is good buddies with Scott Porter (Porter appears regularly on his podcast) and I asked him to look into it, and while Scott wishes it were true, unfortunately he is not set to be Superman. This could be that he has to keep quiet about the project until an official announcement, but I believe my guy. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the data, Anonymous Source!"

Miller Says Justice League is on Schedule
Source: The Sydney Morning Herald
December 7, 2007

The Sydney Morning Herald talked to Justice League director George Miller, who said the movie wasn't affected by the recent writers strike in the U.S. and is expected to start shooting in the new year. Miller wouldn't comment on the casting rumors.

Well that's good

Last week at the AFI's George Miller mentioned that JUSTICE LEAGUE will have a new title soon.

We may have it already.

Christian Bale was on Nova (FM) today in an interview (pre-recorded I assume) for "Yuma" and said he has "nothing to do with AMERICAN HEROES, and their Batman will be different to our Batman".

There you have it!

Um, American Heroes? If this is true, that's a terrible title. What's wrong with Justice League anyway?

****, piss, ****, ****, ****-sucker, mother-****er, ****, wank, balls, ***gothunters.

It sounds like an MTV Reality Show.

Well that's good

Nothing about this movie is good. What you have said is a paradox.

I thought they decided not to go with "Justice League of America" because they didn't want to offend other countries, or something. At least that's what I heard. But "American Heroes" is no different. And it's a much suckier title. Either way, if the movie's going to be called anything other than "Justice League," I'm out.

****ing Hollywood.

Let's see, Wanted? Check. Justice League? Check. I wonder who's next on Hollywood's "piss-on" list. Please don't let it be Watchmen.

To be precise the whole "of America"lessness in the name Justice League was a marketing decision made for the animated series and not the entire brand as manifested in Hollywood or the DC Comics themselves.

It amuses me that less than half of them were born in America.
Yes, but they were RAISED American or at least part of America's self-image... (deletes long essay about identity formation, superhuman phenomenology and immigrant narratives that no one will be interested in)

If you add the "raised" thing, that only adds one more name to the Americans.
I'm not just talking about Superman, which is why I didn't just refer to 'raised' American but America's self-image.

I was referring to Wonder Woman's status as being a part of melting pot pluralism, the Green Lanterns' self-image of transnational policing, Batman's origin as being reflective of Protestant work ethic, Manhunter's interventionist/assimilationist status, etc.

Basically everybody in the Justice League Big Seven is a representation of how America sees itself.

"American Heroes" isn't even a memorable name. It's not creative at all. They're doing this just to **** with us.
