Justice League: To the silver screen!

Well you guys did do JSA while I was away, so maybe it placated the need to The DC All-Stars for a while.

But a Justice League would be great.

Yes my JSA round was of the best. This is why people need to vote for me more I have such great choices for rounds.

I heard
Teresa Palmer just won the role of WW.
Is this true? Personally, I'd rather see
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as WW.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I have heard that to. In a perfect world Jennifer Connelly would be Wonder Woman...but it's not.

It was reported a few posts above.

Still a rumor at the moment, coming from Moviehole citing an 'unnamed director' who had worked with Palmer as their source. Nobody else has verified it.

Courtesy of the good folks at Cinema Blend, the big news is that resident "Friday Night Lights" paraplegic former high school QB king Scott Porter will be donning the red and blue spandex to play the Man of Steel himself, Superman. Further, tattooed rapper Common is set to play John Stewart aka Green Lantern, fast talking pretty boy Adam Brody is set to play The Flash, Teresa Palmer is cast but not as Wonder Woman but rather as Talia Ghul, daughter of Batman nemesis Ra's Al Ghul (wait, Ghul as a villain again? What da dilly yo?) and finally, Michael Gough may be appearing as Bruce Wayne butler extraordinaire Alfred.

Presumably, an official casting announcement is imminent so we'll soon see to what degree all this turns out to be true.
I hope so I hate constant casting rumors like this

As far as I know, the cast has been officially locked and between Brody and Palmer, those choices seem consistent with the rumors that have been reported before.

Unless those rumors were false.

That said, I am now richer at the HSX.

Also, I had no idea Michael Gough was still alive.

Michael Gough returning as Alfred would be so awesome. As much as I love Caine in the role, Gough is still my perfect Alfred.
Michael Caine's Alfred is great.

But to me, the one true great Michael Caine performance is when he's asked to play a totally self-confident jackass or a completely low-brow ill-mannered twit.

And in that light, I would love to see him play a retired superhero somewhere in the DC Universe, whether it's in this project or somewhere else.

If a JLA movie has to be made in the immediate future without Bale, Caine or Routh, I recommend Gough as Alfred and Keaton as Batman. And while they're at it, throw in Welling as Superman just to shut the Smallvillains up. That way, you give the fans what they want (an older, 'veteran'-type Batman played by a fan-favourite), it makes sense to the average filmgoers that this is a 'different' Batman (because it's the character from '89 film) and lastly, it means that the "Who's better? Bale or X?" argument won't get any new, annoying contenders. It'll still just be the same old war horse who was the only contender to the title to begin with.

Now, I know what you're going to say. Keaton would never do it. But that's just it. He might. If WB pushed enough cash in his direction, there's no reason why he shouldn't do it. He hasn't been an A-list actor in nearly a decade, wouldn't it make sense to take an offer like this?

Too bad WB are idiots and something this wonderful won't ever happen.

That would be cool too.

Granted, he wouldn't be much like the guy depicted in the comic --- "This is the right hand that took down Captain Nazi!" --- but who the damn hell cares, he'd still be awesome and put that unique Michael Caine touch to a character who gets like ten minutes of screen time.

All of you should watch Michael Caine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and then follow that up with Children of Men even if you only watch the scenes with Michael Caine in them.

Another rumored cast:

Superman - D.J. Cotrona
Batman - Armie Hammer
Wally West/The Flash - Anton Yelchin
Aquaman - Santiago Cabrera
Iris - Zoe Kazan
Wonder Woman - Megan Gale
Talia al Ghul - Teresa Palmer
Green Lantern - Common

Oh man is that cast ever bad. The guy playing Batman is 21! The guy playing the Flash is my age!

Aquaman is the oldest one at 29.... and it's Isaac Mendez from Heroes??? He's good, but as Aquaman?

Do ages matter? It's the voices that matter.

I don't think we've ever clarified in this thread whether it will be CGI or live action.

IGN keeps talking like it's a live project, but two months ago this was supposed to be CGI.

I thought it was confirmed as a cgi film , people kept mentioning it. Sorry

Don't sweat it.

I thought it was confirmed too.

And then Rupert Evans screen tested to play Superman.

Then ComingSoon.Net said it was CGI.

Then Hollywood Reporter said it was live-action.

If there has been a confirmation then I missed it.

Of course, 'screen-test' might mean they are also going for motion capture a la Beowulf & Polar Express.

Whatever. We'll know what it is eventually.
