Justice League: To the silver screen!

From IGN Filmforce:
EW, which recently reported that Jessica Biel was no longer in the running to play Wonder Woman, now claims "Biel is in early talks to play Wonder Woman in League, but ... the studio might be wary of a crossover; one source says that her contract is unlikely to guarantee that she'd be the star of any future Wonder Woman feature." IGN contacted Biel's reps at CAA today who advised us that she is no longer in talks for JLA.

There may be another -- and nastier -- reason why a Wonder Woman spin-off film might be questionable now. According to DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, Warner Bros. president of production Jeff Robinov recently decreed, "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead." This is reportedly in response to the lackluster performance of two recent female-driven Warners releases, The Invasion and The Brave One."

You think maybe because those movies just sucked to begin with?

CBR:

Voices from Krypton has an interview with DC's movie guru Gregory Noveck, who addressed the Tom Welling rumors that just won't die. "I think part of it is that the character is larger than the actor," Noveck said. "If you look at Batman, Superman and Justice League as separate franchises, if all of a sudden you have Brandon in it but you don't have Christian, then what movie is it? I think you have to have it stand on its own. I'm just speculating, but if I'm the director of this movie, I don't want to have to be too careful of another director's iteration of a character. If I use his actor, then I'm kind of beholden to it. What if George Miller hired Brandon and Christian, but he wanted Brandon to really play Superman tougher and wanted Christian to show more humanity? Then all of a sudden you're entering very strange creative territory. The same is true of using Tom Welling. I think ultimately it's a better movie if you have different actors to keep the iterations of the characters distinct. The example I've been using is, is it the Mike Mignolia Batman versus the Frank Miller Batman? It's still Batman, they're just different versions of it. I think when we start to open up the films with that kind of lens, where you can say, 'These are all Superman, but they're different versions' -- even from Tom Welling to Brandon Routh, right? That's pretty cool."

The rumor floating around at Ain't It Cool News is that the recently reported casting call with actors such as Adam Brody, Joseph Cross, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Teresa Palmer was strictly for the roles of the Flash and Wonder Woman.

Speaking of Themiscira's Finest, an article at Cinematical claims that actress Shannyn Sossamon is in the running for the role. "According to our source, the Mulroneys were so taken with Sossamon that they championed her to director Miller, even going so far as to state that they had envisioned Sossamon in the Amazonian role all along," the article states. "But now comes the bad news ... our source also tells us that Miller was less than over the moon about Sossamon's audition (or just didn't see her as being the right casting fit), which means that a resulting stalemate will almost certainly break in his favor. The audition apparently took place sometime prior to the recent 'Young Hollywood' open casting call, and that's all we know at this point."

Please please please please please please please please please please please please please don't cast Adam Brody as the Flash.:please:

It's just a voice though if it's cgi. So he might be cool. I never would of thought mark hamill would be a good joker , but when he did the voice it was perfect and the best joker on tv or films to date IMO (hoping dark knight is great)

UGO's Movie Blog has detailed information on the latest draft of the script, with a lot of spoilers.

Also, Superhero Hype has a rumor about casting. Their scooper wrote, "About three weeks ago I got to go along to some casting sessions in Soho for a movie called 'Justice League.' I didn't know what it was until I saw the character list later. I would have figured it out earlier but with a movie like that one they don't let them actually read from the proper script until they're officially cast. Anyway, we went through a whole bunch of British actors and some of them were pretty good. But I've heard today that one of them has been cast, or I guess is about to be cast, as Superman. I don't remember his audition, but I was out of the room for a lot of it. Anyway, the guy everyone is talking about is called Rupert Evans." The rumor is repeated by Ain't It Cool News.

I don't mind if he's doing the voice.

I know he can be annoying on The O.C., but seeing as I stopped watching The O.C. in the middle of the second season, I associate him more with his role in In The Land of Women and the quality of his voice suits the character as much as Michael Rosenbaum.

The only major difference is that we know NOW that Michael Rosenbaum actually has good voice acting skills and Brody has yet to prove that.

If the whole thing's going to be CGI then I don't see why they don't just man up and use the Timmverse voicecast. Kevin Conroy IS Batman. Period. I deliberately use his voice in my head when reading any Batman comic.

I can't think of anyone better for the Flash than Rosenbaum either, or Lumbly as J'onn. The others are flexible, but for those three, if it's just going to be CGI anyway, why mess with perfection?

Same reason they dont have Bale or Routh do it. The characters are different and he doesnt feel it would be right to just change the way these actors portray the character.

How fannish of you.

Timmverse is great. It's the greatest.

But I see nothing wrong with re-casting the voices.

Just so long as they aren't the lame ones they used in Justice League Heroes.

Besides, those actors probably want to move on. They've had their fun and probably want to move on to other gigs.

I doubt that, they've been doing the voices for years they have even reprised their roles, like in the show The Batman.

This is because George Newbern (Superman) and Dana Delany (Lois Lane) have no career future.

And it's no secret that Clancy Brown is a crazy ole doodyhead of an animation fan, and would do Lex Luthor for no money because he loves cartoons that much. For god's sake, he collects SpongeBob animation cels. And I love him for it.

Everyone else? They play different characters.
