I am not an atheist who walks around telling people they are wrong though
Do you even read my posts Bass?
He didn't say YOU did.
I think he did just declare himself Pope, though.

They so totally are.
No I meant with the official definition of religion. Atheist is not a structured religion its a type of belief. It lacks what is needed to call something a religion... or something like that.
Actually, we do believe in something, nothing, it's the religion of nothing.
That's how I see it.
Why argue the sematics?
Well if you read my post right I said it was a type of belief, but to be officially an religion it has to be organized or something like that. I learned it in a religion course but its summer now so teh brainz aint workin zo wellz
Respect is key, as everyone has their own version of god. God is god, right? Or is it? I don't know... neither do you... neither does anyone else... so don't judge. You might just be wrong.
I've always believed that atheism does not mean "There is no God and you believe in nothing." I've always believed atheism meant "If there IS a God --- and I ain't saying there is one --- I don't worship him."A friend of mine made a t-shirt with affordable t-shirt supplies you can buy at any art shop (Michael's, that sort of place) which says:
"God made me an atheist, who are you to question his judgement".
Great shirt. I like, even though I don't identify as an atheist. I'm a firm believer in believing in whatever you want to believe in as long as you don't infringe on other peoples' beliefs. I'm not a supporter of organized religion even though I was raised Catholic and even served as an altar boy (and no my priest didn't molest me). Through life I've learned that there are a lot of people in this world and most of them don't agree on the concept of god even if they believe in god, so I don't subscribe to any established version of god.

That is to say it is not about repudiating the existence of everybody else's God, so much as it is refusing to make A God the foundation of your spiritual beliefs.
I'm sure there is a wide spectrum of theological values among atheists. Orthodox Atheists, Protestant Atheists, Reformation Atheists, etc.According to my friends who are born-again atheists, it's categorically, "There is no afterlife and no God."

Nice why to sum it up.
I like this guy.
...So, you wanna do something later?
Damn straight.Bass-Award Pending.
I categorize a bit differently, from a language perspective.McCheese said:Atheists believe there is no God.
Agnostics recognize the possiblity of a God, but don't know if there is one for sure and don't worship him.
i'm atheist. When it comes to the afterlife i believe once your dead your dead that's it. No heaven/hell , No reincarnation No coming back to suck young girls in to the tv. Just dead.
But i have no problem with people who do believe as long as they don't force it upon me (no one here does that but you know the type I mean)
I;d be a hypocrite in a sense as i've only read some of the bible and none of the others but I'll cross that bridge eventually.
I loves me the big man above! I do feel mainstream christans are wrong though. As much as I think you'd be wrong to think there isn't a God (i know mine exists and that's my belief) I'm not gonna make you feel bad or pressure you to think the way i do. If you really wanted to learn you'd ask and whatever I couldn't answer, I'd direct you to someone else. I also feel no matter what you believe, you should still read books like the bible, torah, quran just to know the differences and be schooled on said religions for your betterment. I;d be a hypocrite in a sense as i've only read some of the bible and none of the others but I'll cross that bridge eventually.
