Re: How I Met Your Mother (discussion)

Well Doom, you called it.

The production of the fifth season has been complicated by the pregnancy of actress Cobie Smulders (Robin). It appears the show will be unable to film until summer as Smulders is expecting in the Spring. Waiting to film until the summer before release is practically unheard of in modern network television production.

Also, though not officially revealed by CBS, this does confirm that HIMYM has been picked up for a 5th season.

I'm a genius at this TV pregnancy stuff. I expected them to take the Claire Huxtable route and have them wearing blazers and standing behind raised counters and tables......but then I thought how that wouldn't work with the pacing of the show.

So yeah....I called it.

Well not to you guys. But I talked to Ice the other day. And I so called it.

That is exactly what they've been doing with Lily, though.

Re: How I Met Your Mother (discussion)

So thanks to the govt holiday---I got to stay home today and catch up on clearing the DVR.

But once it was cleared the channel was on Lifetime (GF was apparently watching a WifeSwap marathon earlier) and lo and behold---How I Met Your Mother!

And not just any HIMYM....the introduction of Victoria.

Victoria.

Cupcake Victoria.

VICTORIA!

I love her.

Re: How I Met Your Mother (discussion)

I lent my set to a co-worker just to give her something to watch over the long Valentine's/President's Day weekend.....

She LOVES the show.

She even got her daughter, Amanda, to watch it with her. That wouldn't seem like such a big deal...but since she has one of those crazy TV relationships with her daughter where her daughter is suicidal and always telling her mom that she hates her, blah blah blah.

They now watch the show together every night and call it "family time". You should see them bond now. They haven't been this friendly and close in YEARS!

How I Met Your Mother.........bringing families together via Slap Bet and Mysterious Goat Appearances.

Re: How I Met Your Mother (discussion)

Whether or not we get the goat explanation....we're getting HOW TED MET THE MOTHER EXPLANATION!!

As in we're going to get it officially by season's end.

From Entertainment Weekly:

"To accommodate Alyson Hannigan's maternity leave, producers shot the season finale in January. Translation? Mother co-creator Carter Bays has big scoop to share. The highlights: Barney's secret love-crush on Robin will "come to a head," and we're finally going to get an answer to the Mother of all secrets. "At the end of the season," Bays shares, " we will address the title of our show."

I still wonder if she might appear soon. I mean, Germany was a 2 year internship...

People are so passionate about the quality of this show that I'm strongly considering checking out the DVDs. I'm fairly certain I'd really like it. It's just so hard to jump into shows on TV these days though, with so much going on.

Re: How I Met Your Mother (discussion)

I caught what I'm assuming was a rerun of this and I thought it was hilarious. If it isn't too much trouble, can you tell me how early in the show's run it was based on the following cliffnotes?

-Everyone was at a resturant and swaping stories, central among them "the pants story" and this story about a girl that dated both Ted and Marshall at the same time.
-The pants story was Marshall forgetting their pants and calling their girlfriend to bring it to them. The girlfriend handed it to Barney, who sabotaged the pants and then gave them to Marshall, and they all had a good laugh at him during a meeting. Also, Barney kept laughing at this Oliver Twist joke he made at the time.
-Ted eventually broke up with the girl for cheating on her boyfriend (can't remember if it was Marshall or someone else) and at the end of the episode, he revealed he made up with her, they were dating again, and she came into the resturant to meet him.
-There was this gag where one of Barney's girls was a about to give him a tie and Barney goes "She's got a gun!" and there was another where these two little kids were breaking up because the girl was seeing someone else. "He reads on a third-grade level!"

I only started watching about halfway through the episode, was playing Star Wars Battlefront at the same time, and I only know the guys names. (OMGSOSEXIST) If you can't tell me anything, I'll completely understand.
