Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Not impressed whatsoever with the season premiere. Lack of focus; too scizophrenic. It's not how you start, it's how you finish, though. Where the Season 1 finale sucked it up for an ungodly amount of reasons, maybe Season 2 will get better as it goes on.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I'm going to have to agree with how forced West felt. The only good part of his character was that he showed us that powers can be repeated.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I don't see what the big deal is about the repitition of powers... Doesn't really make an significant difference. I expected it with the number of people they said had powers.

West was definitely forced. Hopefully, he can be redeemed. Right now, he's got the most retarded looking facial expressions on network television.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I liked the episode.

That's all I'm saying about it.

This season I'm gonna try something new and not read into anything or try to predict anything. It's obvious that Hiro will turn out to be be Kensei....but I think the writers are smarter than that and will give us a twist.

There. I'm done.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

This episode was interesting and did a good job of setting things up for the first part of the season, going with Kring and Loeb's "pods" setup. I'm wondering who went off the roof with Kaito. At first I thought it was Peter because apparently, they survived the fall, but then he's in a cargo trailer in Ireland.

I'm glad they didn't try and throw in too many new characters, saving us from having to go through introductions. I'm with pretty much everyone in that I hate Clark Kent... or West or whatever his name is. He makes me want to punch a baby, and then him. When I saw him flying, though, I wondered if he could possibly be Claire's long lost twin brother with dad's powers? Probably not but wouldn't that bring a Star Wars vibe to the show? Maybe a green midget will remind us all that "there is another".

What was up with Nathan's face, anyway? That threw me off... I started thinking maybe Candice was in the background, messing with his head. Who knows?

As for Hiro, I don't think he's going to turn out to be Kensei. I don't think that's his destiny. I'm of the opinion that he's going to help Kensei realize his destiny and be the hero that he grew up reading stories about. Not saying Hiro won't become a hero to the people of feudal Japan in his own right, but I think this is just part of his journey on the way to saving the world.

Damn good way to start off the season.

Nathan's Face = He got hurt in the blast, methinks, and got plastic surgery or something.

That's some damn fine plastic surgery. I also find it odd that all of his hair wouldn't have burned off. I think something else is going on besides "plastic surgery".

I also find it ironic and highly entertaining that the first season started with Mr. Bennet chasing Dr. Surresh. . .and this season starts with them teaming up. Just goes to show that the show isn't predictable.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

There was a bit too much expository dialog, but I liked it a lot. Much more impressive than last season's premier.

I have a theory that Hiro will actually become "Kensei", quickly realizing that the deeds he's read about are actually his own. I think he's going to rescue the girl from the Bandits and have one of his famous 'realization' moments. At first I was sure that Kensei was Papa Nakamura, but now I'm relatively sure that Hiro will take up the mantle in the place of lame white guy.

That, or he helps lame white guy "realize his destiny". Which will be stupid.

Yeah, there's a shot in the montage in the beginning (some of you may have skipped it because it started with old footage and had a ****ty Mohinder monologue, but there was some new stuff) of Hiro in the Kensei armor. You can't see his face, but he's in this hands-on-hips superman pose that is 100% Hiro.

I have a feeling that there's more to him than just being a random English wannabe Asian. I do think that Hiro is going to take up the mantle for awhile, though.

I think Kensei might make Hiro more practical and give him a tactical mind. Hiro is still really naive.

It was mostly great. The only problem is, Claire's storyline has hit the ****s.

Claire is easily my favourite character after Hiro, and I was always about equally interested in her story. Her dad is more awesome than ever, but she's right back where she started now, being picking on by the so-cheesy-it-hurts cheerleader mafia("lolz do a flip and she's off the hook"...What hook? What are you talking about?!) while secretly hiding her power, except from the vaugely-emo outsider boy. The only difference is Zack was cool and likable, while this guy has "douchebag" stamped across every tooth in that ****-eating grin of his. And THEN they give him arguably the coolest superpower in the world? Bah.

The cheerleader mafia was so dumb. There's no ****ing hook! You have no authority! And I think the guy was supposed to come off as a creep. He's like Hiro and Peter, wanting to do something meaningful with their powers, but taking it so far he spills into Sylar territory. His dangling feet when he was hovering made me think that he has telekinesis (another repeat). Also, for some reason I can't explain, his dangling feet scared me. They were really creepy.

I liked the high school scenes for showing Claire's growth. She realizes that stupid teenage girl pissing matches aren't as important as protecting her family and that the world is so much larger than answering a question in class. They were kind of cliche, but she has become a lot more mature.

I think that was just crappy wire working on his part

What if Sylar managed to get to Candice before she died.... and West IS Sylar... following the one who got away...
