Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

What?

She just joined Lost I thought

Nope. There were rumors that she was in talks to join Lost sice she was in Hawaii and they film there.....but in the end, she signed with Heroes.

If she had joined Lost, that would've been enough for me to catch up on the DVDs.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Huh.

I would've rather been on Lost if I were her.

She's hot and I watch this show so I don't care. Cool, I guess.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

 FINALLY. Let's just hope she doesn't follow in the footsteps at all of the other minors we fell in love with (Lohan, the Olsons, Spears...).

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

An excellent article in today's Globe talking about how Heroes is too overly ambitious in terms of all of the marketing and tie-ins and spinoffs and how the whole Heroes World Tour makes the show out to be a classic already, when it still really hasn't proven itself as being that just yet.

Y'know the only thing I really disagree with in Gilbert's article -- whose critiques I usually always agree with -- is that, and this isn't even about Heroes, that LOST Season 2 failed miserably in its introducing new characters to the island.

But at least he refers to LOST as a "mature blockbuster" earlier in the piece, something he think's (and I think, too) that Heroes is not.

It's sort of like that scathing article from earlier in the thread about that online guy showing how "LOST rules, Heroes droolz" only in a more professional manner, and not so much about LOST.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Lost failed at Ana Lucia (who was poorly written, I think, because in some episodes she was damn good, and I like the actress who played her). Libby and Mr. Eko were awesome. So that guy is stupid...

But yeah... I hope Heroes picks up rather than falls apart in the second season. Which should be an obvious thing to hope, but honestly, its something I'm worried about more and more.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Anyone else pick up the first season on DVD?
It had the original cut of the pilot episode, which was vastly different from the actual pilot we saw, "Genesis", and included an entirely different version of Ted Sprague, who was a muslim ex-terrorist. It was much better than the actual pilot.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I rented the first disc, but haven't actually gotten around to watching anything yet. If the unaired pilot really ends up being that good, I may end up buying it.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It's not two completely different ones, it's the original, plus about an extra half-hour integrated it, in which we meet Parkman and discover his powers(all of which happens in the real second episode) and a group of terrorists, one of whom has the radiation-emission power that ended up being written in for Ted later in the real season.

I prefered the real aired pilot, to be honest.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Huh. I think it would have been cooler with terrorists, but it depends on how it was written, I guess.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I've totally gotten back into this now with the DVDs and everything. So awesome, and I'd almost forgotten how much I care about the characters.

Also, that song in the first and third episode, when they're all watching the Solar Eclipse, is just great.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I was watching throw backs of Entourage (season 1) and saw Ali Larter in an episode. Even then - hot.

Anyway, the second season should be a blast. I'm predicting that I'll like it much more than the first. Now that we've got all of the origins and introductions, we can get to the real meat of this universe.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I keep forgetting Kristen Bell is gonna be on Heroes and then I remember and every time I remember, it's like learning about it for the first time. God, I can't wait for this season.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

 FINALLY. Let's just hope she doesn't follow in the footsteps at all of the other minors we fell in love with (Lohan, the Olsons, Spears...).

Actually, I hope she does follow in the footsteps of the young adult trainwrecks (ie, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, etc), if for nothing else so she can expose her clam to a multitude of paparrazzi while climbing out of a car, drunk and pantyless.

Anyway, in case anyone's interested, we'll be seeing some Heroes Heroclix (say that five times fast). Wizkids, Inc. (makers of Heroclix, Mage Knight, Horrorclix, etc), just announced they'd be making Clix based off NBC's Heroes. There aren't any other details besides that, but if I had to guess I imagine they'd probably sell a single "action pack" (a prepackaged, pre-determined assortment of 7-10 figures).

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

So, I got this on DVD on a whim (Well. . .that and my friends all raved about it).

I haven't enjoyed a show this much since Firefly. I can't WAIT until Monday. :D
