Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I thought the finale wrapped things up nicely for book 1.

It was well written. It had action, it had drama.

I don't think Nathan or Peter are dead. He could have easily dropped Peter off up in the sky and flew away. Peter heals and what not.

The one worse than the Boogeyman is obviously the bad guy for book 2.

I also believe that Hiro's father is Kensei - also a time traveller. I loved how Hiro ends up in his childhood stories.

Every little bit all season contributed to last night's episode. Was awesome.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I don't see why Nathan dieing was necissary. Peter's absorbed Nathan's abilities, so why couldn't he just fly away himself? Or use Hiro's abilities to teleport?

Other than that, I enjoyed the episode a lot.

Because he didn't want to -- he was too caught up in the emotions raised by the fight, which is more or less consistent with how he's been characterized throughout the entire show (especially in oppostion to Sylar's cold, hard sense of skewed rationalism).

It made perfect sense of Nathan -- the more deliberate, calculating one -- to step in and intervene.

I really wanna find out the one who is worse than the Boogeyman, who sees into Molly whenever she finds him. Great little setup for a future big bad there!
Did you ever consider the possibility that it's somebody who has already been introduced?

The Heroes may well have a traitor in their midst, since Molly wouldn't realize it if s/he were actually present among them.

Out of the possibilities for characters with dubious, secretive motivations, I'd say Angela Petrelli easily tops the list.

It was the first thing that came in my head when she said about the person that looks her back. I'm almost sure that Angela will be the big villain in Volume Two.

Also, Simone's father is awesome.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

So, what are everybody's expectations for Season 2?

I, for one, would like to see the following points addressed:

* starting to explain the signficance of the eclipse

* more hints about the meaning of the recurring symbol, and how it relates (specifically) to whatever grants powers to evolved humans

* a greater understanding about how exactly the Company was formed; how it avoids being discovered by the Government; whether it had always been corrupt, or whether something happened to Linderman along the way

* a proper explanation of the connection of BOTH Petrelli parents to Linderman and the Company; how they interacted with each other, after the events depcited at the end of the "War Buddies" comic

Hmmm... What else?

That's a pretty good point, but for the whole 15 hours that Peter was being all glowey-exploding man, I was practically screaming at the TV for him to just fly away.

Another good point. The only living members of the previous generation of Heroes are her and Papa Nakamura (as far as we know), and I think that Hiro's Dad pretty much proved himself to be a stand-up guy. If a member of the current cast is indeed this person that Molly's so scared of, I'd definetly agree that it's Angela Petrelli.

I liked Molly and Micah's brief interactions. It looks like it's being set up for them to live together (for some reason?), so that could be fun.

The DL/Nikki/Micah family would be best prepared to protect her. DL can run away from anyone while Nikki holds them off. Micah can help and provide a playmate on the run.

I like the Micah actor better than the Molly actor (her fake tears were pretty bad), though both of them are pretty good as far as child stars go.

Right, but I mean, she just kind of ends up with them as One Big Happy Family at the end, despite having no real interaction with them ata ll. It seems more likely she'd end up with Parkman, if he survives.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Okay, so Season Two...

What we know from interviews is that we will be exploring Hiro's family background, and I'm pretty sure the other main storyline is going to be unraveling the mysteries of Linderman's company, with hopefully a few flashbacks (courtesy of Simone's father, who clearly has some sort of Dream power, and seems to be living on in Peter's Dreams) to the team of Superhumans that Linderman put together: Hiro's Father, Linderman, Mrs. Petrelli, Peter and Nathan's Father, Simone's dad, and probably Claude (who needs a comeback). I just want to see more of that first generation of Heroes, and find out whether it really was the first generation, and why.

Because of the title, Generations, I think that the generational aspects of these superheroes will be explored moreso than having to save the world at the end of the next season. But I do think there will be a big bad guy, and that the obvious choice is Molly Walker's big scary "I can see you when you see me" fella. Im guessing this guy is going to have been a part of the first generation of Heroes

Hiro is going to train with Kensei... Unfortunate, because I was really expecting that it was going to turn out that Hiro WAS Kensei. I do think that Hiro will come back to our time though, to deal with Ando, his father, and possibly his sister, because a season without George Takei would hardly be a season to begin with. But there are LOTS of mysteries that have still gone unanswered, and I look forward to getting some answers.

Sylar... He'll be back, though I suspect he'll play a significantly smaller role next season... I mean, he's obviously very injured, and he doesnt have healing powers, so he'll have to heal for a good long time... I'm glad he's not dead, maybe he'll tie into the Big Bad, maybe not... I'm just looking forward to more Sylar.

I was happy with the last episode, even with Nathan saving the day. Nathan needed redeeming more than Peter needed to grow up... And I still think its possible that Nathan survived... But that'll be visited next seaon, I'm sure.

I'm just sad I have to wait so long till the next episode...

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It's strange how they cast these "big name" stars (for TV anyway), like McDowell and Roberts, and then just kill them off after a couple appearances.

I miss Eccleston too, but isn't he kind fo a weird guy about his work? He doesn't strike me as the type to want to be tied down to a series (after his abrupt departure from Dr. Who).

I got the impression that Mohinder, the One Big Happy Family, and the Bennets were going to be hanging together because Molly will probably still need Mo's blood for a while and they're all on the run from Mr. Sulu, Ma Petrelli, the guy who can see Molly (who might be Mr. Sulu), et al.

Man, Eccleston was the best as the Invisible man. I really hope his character comes back for at least a few season 2 episodes. Him beating the crap out of Peter with that staff thing was one of the better parts of the series.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

My friend and I were talking and thought what if Papa Nakamura was Kensei, they didn't reveal his face at all, which leads me to think it is someone we know, and it would make sense for it to be Mr Sulu. This would suggest he was immortal or something like that. It would be great if he was like the first superhuman... then you could make him the One Worse Than The Boogeyman, and have him all Apocalypse like and stuff. It would also be a big shocker as he has been played up as a pretty decent type guy, but look at Bennet. He was hinted at being the main bad guy through the first half of the season only to find he was a good guy.

I don't think the Big Bad is Mama Petrelli, simply because Molly said "he", so unless Mama Petrelli can hide her gender or something, its not her.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Too bad Ourchair doesn't follow Heroes. He doesn't know what he's missing!

Damnit, you stole what I was going to say!

But seriously, Micah and Molly together are so cute, with their creepy smiley Hollywood perfectness. I loved the moment where Micah told her / showed her how the elevator wasn't necessarily broken. :D

So, how are my grades for the series?

EPISODES 1 - 16 : B
