Greg Lantern the Movie

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

Yup. Studios often shoot their film and shows on lots owned by rival film or television studios. When I was 17, I was out in LA and interned on the NBC shows "Working" (an office sitcom starring Fred Savage which only lasted a couple seasons) and "Third Rock From the Sun". They were both filmed on the CBS Studios lot.

Its really just about scheduling, finding the necessary requirements for the scenes, and costs. Its a pretty common thing.

I loved that show.

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

There is no way that movie is coming out when they say it is.

If they start shooting in September '09, I don't see how they wouldn't be able to have the movie come out in December '10.

Yeah, a few months of principal shooting, several more for visual effects, etc, maybe another few weeks for pick-up shots...I don't see a December 2010 date as unreasonable or unrealistic.

Even with a large number of visual effects like this movie will require, adequate pre-production (which seems to be the case from all reports) will make the 2010 date possible.

Exactly. Iron Man 2 is just now getting ready to start filming for a release that is in a year.

The studios know super-hero pics usually make money, so they'll get it out with a quickness. Money has always been a great motivator.

More time can only be a good thing.

And it's because they don't have all the casting done. We were all (even you) were going by if they started and had everything ready to go. They don't now.

No, I wasn't.

There was no way there were going to have everything together in time for a finished movie in less than two years. Casting the entire thing is an obvious, crucial part of that.

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

Why. Why would I assume the whole cast of an ensemble blockbuster would just immeadiately fall together and nothing else would go wrong or be delayed despite that that's what happens constantly with productions like this even when they already have the entire team together, let when they're doing that from scratch too.

That's not what I meant, but it's pointless to go on before a repitive argument is started over nothing.

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

This is so dumb. I don't even know what you people are babbling about.

Anyway... after seeing Star Trek, I would be happy with Chris Pine as Hal Jordan. I also think there's something neat about being the lead in two giant sci-fi franchises.

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

Chris Pine as Hal Jordan? That's not very creative....

I hope they don't go with Bradley Cooper though. He'd make a better Guy Gardner. Terrible choice for Hal though.

Re: Green Lantern-the Movie

Shawn Roberts looks better off as Kyle Rayner. I imagine Jordan being someone older, i mean the guy starts off as an accomplished pilot right? Don't know if that's right.
