Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer discussion (spoilers!)

That's more like it.

Ooh, we got a new maverick mod on the scene!

Bass: "That was WAY outta line, Doc! Did you really have to rough up all those posts?"

DSF: "You tell me, Chief. You had a pretty good view from behind your desk!"

*quick cuts of magnum fire, cars swerving, Mole firing from behind crates filled with illegal pr0n and subnics in the old deleted thread warehouse*

All this and more on STRANGFATE: P.I.(professional inter-knight), tonight at 8!

I don't know where the money factor came up. If it was based on one of my posts, I'm sorry, but I mentioned finances in relation to Fantastic Four, not Spider-man.

I think that, in this case, the money does match with quality.
Not really.

But like I said, "not necessarily" not "that is completely false".

Yes, obviously Spider-Man 3 made more money than F4. But that doesn't mean that everyone who went to see it liked it. More money doesn't necessarily mean better.

Yeah a lot of movie hail as great films today had crappy theater gains

I guarantee you Spidey 3 will be looked back upon with fonder memories than F42.

I think I'm not sure but I think most people who love it saw it with other members an thus it clouds their judgement.

Didn't I say that a week ago?

You may have , I can't remember but if you did and now i'm saying it there must be something for there for two of us to have said that

I dunno, I saw it with my family and I still liked it a lot. I just like Spidey 3 more.

Yes but you can see your family almost any time , It was a big deal for them to see with mates plus your on my side of Spider-man 3 is better so hush :p

Only by idiots

only by people with taste :p

That's my point, I still liked it even though I wasn't seeing it with site members.

It's a good movie.

yes but your saying it was not as good as Spider-man 3

However the others who judgement have been clouded are like "It kicked *** soooo much better than Spider-man 3" See? You proved my point. I think it sucks but if you like it then that's cool

but purely from a film making point of view Spider-man 3 is a much better film.

Not everyone is saying that. Most people, myself including, have said that this movie isn't great, but decent enough to enjoy. And that it's better than Spider-Man 3 because that movie wasn't very good. But not "It kicked *** soooo much better than Spider-Man 3" because it's not that high up above it.

DSF: You're off your case chief!

FF2 Had plenty of flaws. They could have done a much better job with Doom. I still think it is a good comic book movie and an entertaining movie.

You guys realize you're arguing over which of two mediocre movies is less mediocre, right?

I liked 'em about the same and took them for what they were. But, its obvious to me no one is changing their opinion. Let it go.

Best. Show. Ever.

I'm not putting him down. I'm just offering my own side of the rational thinking coin.
All I ask was: If a person does not want to see opinion presented as fact, why bother reading internet forums (especially silly, throwaway debates on a movie)? Why bother stating how much he dislikes such things when it adds little to the specific discussion at large?

I have two things to say to this. First off, you're completely right about my post contributing little to the discussion, and I sincerely apologize for that. Secondly, using an Ad Populum argument to prove that just because it's the Internet I should tolerate everything I see is extremely fallacious, and bears little merit. But, that's neither here nor there, so I apologize for steering the discussion away from the movie.

As for the movie, I fairly enjoyed it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The dialogue, acting, and special effects were all serviceable- but none of it was, to use the pun, "fantastic." All in all, though, a fairly satisfying movie that was, in my opinion, better than the original.

Once again, very spot on.
