Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer discussion (spoilers!)

The Surfer looked fantastic in this. The Thing looked fantastic in this. Doom looked fantastic in this. They got all of the looks for the characters (except Galactus) absolutly right. I can understand the Galactus thing as well.

No, spiderman 3 at least had a decent story and really funny moments. If anything, it was comical and appeasing. F4 was just a borefest all throughout. Both F4 movies for that matter. fact.

Oy with the Spider-Man. I'll take Silver Surfer over Emo Parker anyday.

I'll take Emo peter over Power switching fantasic four , human doom , evil cloud , normal clothes that stretch although they weren't meant to and much much more

That's your argument? First off, the powers switching was actually used in a way that made since. Sure it was a coincidence but it wasn't as bad as "Hey I'm all angsty, I should go to a church to think. Oh lucky for me it's weak against sound, I can get it off! Oh hi Eddie! How convenient of you to be standing right below me and become my mortal enemy. Wierd!"

Second, Doom was human in the comics, he's always been. Metal Doom was stupid. They got it right with this one by making him a huge threat to the FF and took him back to his roots as a human character. Sure his speech was off but he was better than in the first one.

Third, I can understand the cloud Galactus. Even if it wasn't the humanoid classic Galactus it served its purpose. This was the Silver Surfer's movie not his. It gave fans Galactus, but the casual movie goer something believable. Who would take a fifty foot tall guy in a purple skirt and tuning fork helmet seriously?

Lastly, I don't see why the clothes should be such a problem. He's Reed Freaking Richards. If he designs clothes for Johnny that don't burn he design clothes for himself that can't stretch.

It wasn't a perfect movie, but it was good. It was true to the characters and told a great Silver Surfer movie.

And Emo Peter was used in a way that made sense to his character and the dark side of him he was going through with black costume. But if you can use Emo Peter I can use the others.

As for "Doom was human in the comics" yes but horribly scared to the point where he needed his mask on 24/7 to hide his face.

I didn't say Doom was perfect. I just said he was much much much much much much much better in the second one. And I get that Emo Peter reflected his 'dark side'. I just thought he looked stupid and I couldn't take any scene where he didn't have the mask on seriously.

Same thing with me and like 99% of fantastic four 2. I admit the silver surfer was done well but the rest.....

Even thing and Jonny who were almost perfect in first movie seemed worse and times just more annoying in this film.

What didn't you like about Johnny? He was great.

In the first one yes. In this one the lines they made him say were almost all cringe worthy. The actor was great in the part and does the best with what he had unfortunately what he had was a big lump of ****.

He looked good when "flame on!" but his dialogue same with most dialog in this film was almost Batman and Robin worthy
