Fantastic Four Reboot

When you say he has been for so many years you mean Ultimate Reed, right?

But yeah, even the character bio indicates Reed is an uber-prodigy. Hopefully they will translate that well into his dialogue and character actions in the film itself.

I do agree the trailers don't do a good job of portraying that, but the trailers don't really do a good job exploring or introducing any of the main characters well. It's more spectacle than substance in the trailers. Hoping the film itself delivers those necessary aspects of the characters that haven't yet been seen in the first couple trailers.

No i meant normal as at time like Civil war he's just a dick lol

Huh. Based on the trailers I thought it looked decent.

Can't always go based on trailers. You gotta go by the other actions the studio's taking. With trailers, if the studio feels it's not going to do well. They'll often cut together some of the best action shots and/or best jokes (sometimes they'll even use some score music from another film that did well). Like in this case if they're holding back reviews, it's not a good sign. Another not so good sign is if you see a lot of promotional products being pushed. This means the studio has little to no faith in the film and are trying to make up for any potential losses.

Read the past like ten appearances of Galactus and try to tell me it's not a better idea. In Ewing we trust.

I'm not saying it's the next Godfather, but based on the trailers and any reports we've seen about the movie can anyone tell me anything that looked so awful about it that makes this anything less than surprising?

I'm not insisting it's going to be good, I'm just saying based on what I've seen and know it doesn't look like something that would need to have reviews embargoed.

The trailers, the behind the scenes, the fact that the CGI has gotten worse in between trailers and the embargo. One of these on its own wouldn't be too bad, but all of them combined... Yeah

Currently has a 4.3/10 on RT with 16 reviews. Not looking good. Hopefully this flop so bad Fox loses too much money from it and doesn't see any value in it.

It'll be interesting to see how the bad reviews affect the box office. This movie doesn't have anywhere near the hype and interest from general audiences (or even comic fans) most other comic-based films tend to have.

As to whether Fox will give up the rights?

I doubt it. But I'm hoping it may open the avenue for a possible character sharing deal like Marvel and Sony made... especially since signs seem to be pointing to a hard reboot for the X-Men franchise within the next 5 years or so (compounded by Jackman leaving the role after 2017).

Some of the marketing techniques are downright weird, too. Miles Teller has already been quoted saying that he knows it's not going to get good reviews - when is the last time actors doing promotion have said anything like that? Also, I was listening to the radio this morning and they had this weird thing where they played a commercial for the movie, then the DJ/host cut in and started talking about how excited she was to see it, how it's so great that they landed the hottest cast, etc. They were obviously trying to get the word-of-mouth hype out there but it was so obviously scripted and so awkward it was hard not to see through it.
