MASSIVE Swamp Thing series finale spoiler

Matthew Cable is dead. I hope DC decides to connect his character to Netflix's Sandman show somehow... In episode 9 he even fell asleep in his car. (In the comics, he dreamed of being a raven right before he died.) That HAD to be intentional set up, right?

I've never heard of this site, but apparently they have an "exclusive" about Black Lightning.

Edit: Oh... my... god...

If we get to the point where half of DC live-action makes it into the crossover, I can't add it all to the DC/CW timeline. It's too much and too tangential, especially if something like BL or the 90s The Flash show are fairly standalone...

We'll have to vote on it, and I mean no disrespect, but I think it should mainly stay Earth-1 and Earth-38; unless there's any event of them traveling to Earth-2 or another Earth in the current shows.

I don't think it'll be that bad.

Batman (Wonder Woman counting comics)
Superman Returns
Black Lightning

Maybe:
Shazam/Isis
Wonder Woman
Lois & Clark
Smallville (DIrishB already did that one, so it won't be that hard)

I can't imagine Titans, Gotham or the DCEU getting involved. Just old series, really. We'll see. I'd happily watch these shows if I can get a hold of them.

No. That is too much. Too tangential from the ongoing storylines of the Arrowverse outside of Crisis.

Again, I'll have to get other votes on it when I bring it up in the DC/CW thread.

This will come to a vote when Crisis airs.

As of right now and for the potential future, I don't have the time to watch that many episodes for characters that may just appear for a few minutes at most.

I understand. What of The Flash (1990) then? I'd assume that would stay, of cause, but it's existance creates an inconsistency with the other shows. Pahaps that should be inserted into it's own timeline?

Maybe just a note at the top of the CW Multiverse should do.

Black Lightning is a CW DC show, so it will probably be in the post-crisis Earth, especially since it's not just going to be cancelled.

That's assuming they'll all merge into one Earth. Which I highly doubt. Too messy. :p

Personally, I'll watch all shows involved with Crisis no matter how small. I think, not saying you should do this, a basic order is easy enough to do, and I know when the breaks between episodes of Black Lightning are and when the episodes take place, month based, thanks to you.

Here's my point, though. I'm sure anyone who wants to do the same would like a note at the top of the Arrowverse timeline stating which shows are in the CW Multiverse, in case they're as crazy as me to do such a thing, or just find it interesting.

Something like:

Shows that aren't technically in the Arrowverse, Earth-1 and Earth-38, but are in the Multiverse and do crossover are:
Batman (Earth-66)
The Flash (Earth-90)
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (Earth-92)
Superman Returns (Earth-96)
Smallville (Earth-1001)
Black Lightning (Earth-18)

Messy multiverses, right?

Watched the Gotham series finale on Bluray. The scene with Nygma in Arkham towards the beginning has that newspaper date which reads "April 15th".

Eh. I know they mentioned later that Bruce was back after "nearly a decade" for the new Wayne Tower opening. But that newcaster might have not been referring to the Tower, but more so the fact that Bruce has been in Gotham for a few weeks prior. Close enough.

April 15
Gotham
5x12, "The Beginning..." (0:01:09 - 0:08:24)

April 16
Gotham
5x12, "The Beginning..." (0:01:09 - 0:42:39)

Time codes overlap.

My personal preference would be to just keep it in the same list--it sounds like a lot to add, and of course it is. But in the grand scheme of things, it's really not that much considering the sheer number of episodes the main DC/CW shows drop every year. In five more years, the new DC/CW output alone will dwarf whatever shows are tied in via the Crisis Crossover. It's going to be cumbersome and complicated whichever route it ends up going. And while some of the older shows might seem tangential now, it seems likely that there will be more crossovers with old shows in the future.

That said, I think there might be a workable compromise: limit the detailed DC/CW timeline to the shows currently on the CW, but remove the "Simplified Viewing/Reading Order" from the first post. Start a new topic for "DC Live Action Multiverse Simplified Viewing/Reading Order", and have that be the new all-inclusive home for everything tied in via Crisis and any future crossovers.

Since it would be just a list of episodes/movies in the approximate year they are set, with no complicated flashback/timetravel entries, it would be a shorter, more manageable list that would represent the full multiverse and allow those of us watching the shows in order a handy resource.

Months have clearly passed between Pennyworth episodes 3 and 4 because

Lord Harwood has grown a full beard. It takes two to six months for a full beard to grow out. Although since Alfred says he still plans on marrying Esme after giving her the ring...two months maximum. Not that much time would need to have passed.

I missed this in Pennyworth episode 4, but it is 100% in 1968 - they mentioned Cliff Richard leaving The Shadows on the news in one scene; which occurred around October 1968.

Objectively, that would put Gotham around 1989 to 1994 for sure.

EDIT: The ending of Episode 2 is on August 26 because they mention a certain character's execution being on a bank holiday. The closest one in 1968 is, of course, August 26.

I guess I'll never know when Krypton takes place because SyFy just cancelled that and that planned Lobo spin-off....
