DC Nation

LitG:

Mark Waid goes to bat for Grant Morrison against DC Comics. He writes:

"The 'net hate over [Final Crisis] is unlike anything I've seen in a long, long time, and it's only fueled by the fact that DC editorial staffers were making fun of Grant in public ON THE NYCC DC PANEL, which is really reprehensible and unprofessional behavior. Really, you'd think Grant had somehow Destroyed DC Comics. I'm cranky about it on Grant's behalf, because I generally believe that hate and vitriol should be reserved for people who deliberately try to do you harm, not people who try and sometimes fail to entertain you.
"

I think Grant Morrison should have finished writing his Wildstorm stories.

Interview with Didio

11. So there's still a role for the second generation characters who took the role while their mentors were not in it?

DD: There will be an enormous role for them moving forward. There's a big role for them now – Kyle is in Green Lantern Corps, so he's never been marginalized; Wally and Connor, and even Cassandra Cain will be appearing throughout the year, and will be seen in roles where they really have a chance to shine.

Or be dragged through the mud, depending on how you approach it.

Well, at least you're honest, Mr. Didio.

OH man, it so totally sounds like Oracle is gonna go back to batgirl .... hope alan moore doesn't find out

I doubt Alan Moore cares. Even if he gave a **** about what goes on at DC, he's gone on the books saying that The Killing Joke wasn't all that. And besides, all Moore did was cripple Barbara. Chuck Dixon and Gail Simone made her interesting as Oracle.

So DC are going to be raising some of their comics to $3.99 but don't fear... they're giving you more stories!

The new Doom Patrol series will have backups featuring the Metal Men. Teen Titans will have Ravager backup and Booster Gold will have Blue Beetle backups.

I think this is a great idea - it justifies the extra dollar and you're going to get more stories about these underused characters.

Now if we can just get a Dibny back-up on Green Arrow/Black Canary, it's on. I'd totally pick up that book just for Ralph and Sue.

Is that title any good yet?

I don't know.

Judd Winnick's not writing it anymore so....

maybe? I mean, other than Winnick, there's no reason it shouldn't be good. It should be great, really. But I don't know who the current team is.

I know there's some new guy on it and I think it's the same guy who was supposed to be writing World of New Krypton but isn't now for some reason... I don't know. I read some reviews and it sounds like it's barely average.

I want that Robinson Justice League comic to hurry up and come out so I can get some good Green Arrow action.

You know it got cut down to a miniseries, right?

Yeah, I just found the link... :(

People should be talking about this so I know! Come on, you slackers!

Oh yeah!

But Willingham and Sturges are taking over.

I haven't been reading JSA recently. But I think the new team might be better than Johns.

I haven't liked anything by Willingham and Sturges that isn't Fables.

This is why I am worried.

Though I guess what little of Blue Beetle I read was okay. How much of that did Sturges write?
