Even with Dead Boy Detectives meeting Crystal Palace in 2023 instead of pre-2021, there was a story & narrative reason to go with that timeline change from the jump.
It's not the exact same chain of events though. Like Gunn said, something from the DCEU getting referenced makes it canon to the DCU. There's still so much we don't even know when it comes to how The Suicide Squad or Peacemaker played out in the DCU compared to the DCEU. Sure a lot of it is the same, but I expect there's still key differences. So, I'm not surprised if Gunn just uses their release dates. Especially since the only thing changed is the years anyway. When its nearly the exact same chain of events as Gunn himself stated, It is convoluted to assume it happened 3 years later. What caused it to happened 2 or 3 years later? If that explanation "doesn't matter", that is convoluted to me.
You can have your opinion, but even when my reasoning is backed up with facts I've noticed you've still been insistent to the contrary. "Is there something about me that you just dislike" is what I start to wonder at that point, because the patterns have exceeded.
At no point did anyone say you had to alter your timeline. My reply wasn't even towards you but you want to take the fact I may not agree personal even when it had nothing to do with you.You can believe its closer to the release date of Superman, that's fine. All I'm saying is the 'evidence' is limited-to-non-existent if you wanna convince me personally to alter my timeline.
Don't gaslight me. Dealt with that too much in life, I know what I'm talking about and I've done nothing wrong. It's not the exact same chain of events though. And sorry if you want to take things personally, but I don't intentionally call you out. I may disagree with takes from time to time but that's not exclusive to you.

Well sorry you feel that way, but I sincerely mean nothing personal.Don't gaslight me. Dealt with that too much in life, I know what I'm talking about and I've done nothing wrong.
Sorry, where is he gaslighting you? Seems like he politely disagrees and that's all there is to it. He seems quite reasonable and isn't telling you you're wrong, just that he has a different opinion.Don't gaslight me. Mostly because I know this all gets brought up again when the new movie comes out, some blurry date is onscreen, then it's a "suggestion" to change the timeline at that point.Sorry, where is he gaslighting you? The history before, during and after The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker is completely different. In the DCU, those characters only appear to have the same timeline. In reality, it would be vastly different. Rick Flag from the DCEU experienced Suicide Squad prior to The Suicide Squad. His history is not the same because it's built off of Henry Cavill's Superman. When its nearly the exact same chain of events as Gunn himself stated, It is convoluted to assume it happened 3 years later. I mean... yeah? What's wrong with that? The whole placement of The Suicide Squad in 2020 is also a blurry date if I recall correctly. That just puts us in an equal position, and since only one film is officially canon, we'd take that. Anyway, it doesn't matter right now. This is a discussion, not a demand or an attack.Mostly because I know this all gets brought up again when the new movie comes out, some blurry date is onscreen, then it's a "suggestion" to change at that point.
Getting ahead of the curb since I'm always told I'm late or unclear in my words. Maybe not here, but in life. The history before, during and after The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker is completely different. In the DCU, those characters only appear to have the same timeline. Surely the very fact that they do have different histories make it possible, no? Because none of the backstory of the DCEU happened and even the actual films aren't canon except the referenced parts.

The thing is either way it doesn't affect this timeline. Whether you believe the DCU version of these events happened at the same time in the DCEU or not, the actual movies are DCEU and therefore remain the same.Mostly because I know this all gets brought up again when the new movie comes out, some blurry date is onscreen, then it's a "suggestion" to change the timeline at that point.
It's an opinion until it becomes a point of contention later. This has happened before, I'm just making my point clear.
But then my concern is a warring thread like the Transformers/Bayverse stuff pops up with the other person's way of seeing it, which I won't allow to happen again. We're not doing the Rabbit Season, Duck Season thing here in the future. I'll follow the facts as they come in, but they need to be irrefutable. Just making that clear. The thing is either way it doesn't affect this timeline. Like I said no one's asking you to change your viewpoint or anything on this thread. And of course we'll wait and see what future projects themselves tell us.But then my concern is a warring thread like the Transformers/Bayverse stuff pops up with the other person's way of seeing it, which I won't allow to happen again. My thread came first, and no one is going to create a second DCU thread. Even if they do... so what? I don't mind multiple interpretations, it's fun.But then my concern is a warring thread like the Transformers/Bayverse stuff pops up with the other person's way of seeing it, which I won't allow to happen again. Well, that's how information is gained. We originally had The Batman in 2019 but now we have 2022. It's fine though... that's normal for this stuff. That's my point.
2024: "Oh it's just our opinion, don't worry about it."
2025: "Hey so this prop date suggests it's in line with 2025, it's not our opinion anymore it's fact that you need to change this."
That's gaslighting intentions to me. See where I'm coming from?
The Suicide Squad placement came from a prop date in the first place and most likely because the movie was filmed with a 2020 release date in mind. And yeah, if Superman gives a hard 2025 date, I don't see why we'd ignore it over evidence from a different universe. That's my point.

Honestly didn't recall which came first, but noted. My thread came first, and no one is going to create a second DCU thread.
You're getting worked up over non-existent threads. None of us are arguing our way or the high way, you're saying that we are. That's not the same thing.Y'all seem so insistent on your way or the highway in this regard, so I'll do the same.
It's my timeline, I'll alter if it's objective as humanly possible. If a warring thread occurs, I will have it shut down. I hate when people wanna start a competition to get people over to their side of things, then people start believing falsehoods.
Don't take as me being an asshole, my intentions come from personal experience and frustrations with incidents like this.
Like I said, at least you're not the morons at the Bluray forums calling me a "nut".You're getting worked up over non-existent threads. None of us are arguing our way or the high way, you're saying that we are. That's not the same thing.
