DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

Honestly didn't recall which came first, but noted.

TBH if it's like the Bayverse example where it clearly cannot fit in the same universe but we're pushing it in there, I can see why a warring thread (which I made) occurs.
It's only okay when you do it, I see I see. Good thing I'm a good sport and like to see different points of view.

If there's a 2022 date in one of these projects, we'd immediately concede to your point of view. At least I would.
Same here. But given this isn't the DCEU and potentially the first official date we get for Gunn's Present Day, I'm not going to throw away a date that could fit in this new universe.

In other news:
I really believe The Batman will be folded into the DCU. Gunn doesn't want to risk the comparisons between his Batman and this already popular and well established one. It just makes sense to make The Batman the first DCU movie, like Batman (1989) is now the first DCEU film.

BobaTalks, who definitely has someone from DC Studios talking to him, said he knows for a fact something involving The Batman: Part II is happening but he won't report on it. I'm guessing it's something big like that, yeah.

Maybe. Pattinson might be like "No" to a franchise, so the alternative could be Part 2 is the last part.

Another idea: They're gonna do the Matrix 2 & 3 thing and develop/film Part 2 AND 3 back to back so one comes out in 2027 and the next comes out in 2028.

Under a clear mind. Yeah that 2020 date in TSS is super blurry on that dude's phone.
However it's consistent due to one major issue: The Intergang mention on the newspaper in Peacemaker season 1; set 5 months after TSS.

I'm pretty sure Black Adam is late-2021 no matter what and Gunn has no plans for Intergang, let alone Black Adam, in the DCU for a long time.

I guess TSS could be early 2021, but that removes all semblance of a hard date.

I guess it's not impossible in the DCU version Waller waits several more months to send Task Force X to Corto Maltese.

I'm thinking...

I think The Suicide Squad being set in 2020 is fine on the DCEU timeline. Anyway, if The Suicide Squad is 2021 in the DCU, then Creature Commandos could be 2.5 years later in 2024 perhaps. Too early to tell.

Maybe it's my definition of "about" but when Rick Flag Sr. says it's been "about 2 years" since his son died, I took that as "2 months but less than 24 months".

"About" might mean shortly before or shortly after.

It really depends on Superman at this point. When Rick Flag Sr shows up he's gonna need to say "I've been the head of ARGUS for [ ] months / [ ] year(s)" or something along those lines for me to get a year down.

Well, the thing is, everything in the DCU is different to the DCEU. In the DCEU, The Suicide Squad is technically a consequence of Henry Cavill's Superman as it follows on from Suicide Squad (2016). In the DCU, we have a completely different history to the one before. So, before during and after The Suicide Squad is completely different depending on the universe, and even the film itself isn't technically an exact match.

It makes sense to me that, since this is a very, very different universe, it's possible that the DCEU events happened at different times to distinguish them further. Maybe something like how the adjacent Young Justice connections work with how Green Lantern "fits" into that timeline, one might say that The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and Blue Beetle are adjacent to the DCU without being in it fully.

In all fairness, if it's not made clear in the film how long after Creature Commandos it is, I don't think it matters too much and as long as Creature Commandos is before, it fits.

I know for sure Gunn said Superman is around the same age as David Corenswet (30 or early-30s).
I believe he said at a convention that Superman starts out at age 25, so this is like 5-6 years into his career by the 2025 film.

Some of those other newspaper prop dates do align with 2020.

I'd have to imagine the present day events of Supergirl is set before Superman because Krypto is apparently with her?

All I know is she turns 21 in present day and she's on an alien world, I think not arrived on Earth yet.
