DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

Well, Creature Commandos can take place in 2024-2025 if needed.
Why do you find this statement humorous? Let's come back to this when we're deeper into the DCU and then see how it works out I guess. If Creature Commandos ends up as 2022 then great. If not, then I guess you won't be laughing.

Thats sold for me the fact that the events of TSS and Peacemaker happen lately in this timeline. We don't know what happen in the canon version of those movies so we don't have nothing to find a canon placement. I assume that CC is in 2024
Or earlier, if the 74 years line by G.I. Robot is any indication this may be set in 2019 lmao.
exactly, we still dont really know anything solid, other than "around 2 years ago" events similar to what was seen in the suicide squad occurred (which is even somewhat disputed with the date found on the phone in the movie saying 2020 but gunn saying it takes place in "the year it came out", 2021) and recently enough for economos' leg to still be injured and healing events similar to what was seen in peacemaker occurred, although not likely imo gunn could be shifting the timeline entirely
Clearly I'm not the only one who doesn't think Creature Commandos has to be in 2022. I haven't seen you explain anywhere, I just assume that it's based on non-canon DCEU films - which is fine, but that doesn't mean that it has to be 2022 if the evidence within the actual DCU canon points elsewhere. 2022 is fine right now, it's a suitable placement based on the evidence. Doesn't mean it's fixed though.

Let's not forget, the vote to add DCEU material to the DCU was 6/2 in favor of not. It seems the general consensus on this site is that the DCU doesn't need to adhere to the DCEU.

You know damn well I wasn't being serious with that 74 years quip.

So I'll repeat myself AGAIN:
1.) TSS is 2020, Peacemaker S1 is 2021, CC is about two years after TSS = 2022 (meaning, before August according to Rick Flagg Sr). Superman is months later, so May 2022. Bumping those years to other years makes this convoluted as hell.
2.) Prop dates conflict at times and will assume the current year or year of release which is ripe for inaccuracy, ESPECIALLY if we don't see this date onscreen. I can list numerous examples of this but I legitimately don't have the time.

I'm working on the weekends right now, during the holidays. Don't pull this on me again, PLEASE.

You act passive aggressive, I'll act passive aggressive back.
2022 is where it stays, end of story. Call it 'inaccurate' all you want, but objectively you are wrong/gaslighting.

You're going to look back at that comment later and probably reflect on how you're speaking to me, because nothing in my comment deserved that kind of response. Don't make things personal. I also work on the weekends during the holidays, doesn't excuse blatant rudeness. If you actually read my comment, I don't argue that 2022 isn't accurate. I state that it isn't a fixed timeline placement, and future information, like the newspaper in Superman potentially, could override it. How many times do I angry/laugh react at people because I disagree with them? Very little, because I try to be civilized. Behind every text is a real person with real opinions, so don't ridicule people. I'm not objectively wrong because the placement of Creature Commandos is based on subjectivity regarding if you follow the dates of DCEU films.

My comment was a response to YOU laughing. You are the aggressor, I wouldn't have confronted you if you hadn't started first.

In any case, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker S1 aren't actually DCU canon, so yes. Creature Commandos could be set in 2024-2025, with the events of those (non-canon) movies being brought forward in time. If there's a date in Superman that shows 2025 directly, and it's months after Creature Commandos, what are you going to do?

any theory right now is as good as any other theory until anything definitive is given

right now my theory is that gunn will retcon the approximate events of tss that occurred in the dcu around august 2021, when the film was released, as he himself stated, which would slide this universe's approximate events of peacemaker to around january 2022, and place creature commandos anywhere, but more likely, the later end of 2023, with superman occurring "months" (13-18 months from 2023 would fit a may 2025 date, aligning it much closer to its real-world release date as well, which we can see gunn will fall back on given his, quite honestly, lax approach when it comes to canon overall)

but again thats just my theory

id really like to avoid this site being a place where anyone is attacked for having a theory, especially when its being kept intentionally vague on purpose; i understand being passionate about this stuff, i myself am a huge nerd but thats all every member here is is a nerd with their own theory

It's the internet, and I'm blamed/gaslighted for a lot of false "aggression" that I never started.
I'd say get used to it.
