DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

any theory right now is as good as any other theory until anything definitive is given

right now my theory is that gunn will retcon the approximate events of tss that occurred in the dcu around august 2021, when the film was released, as he himself stated, which would slide this universe's approximate events of peacemaker to around january 2022, and place creature commandos anywhere, but more likely, the later end of 2023, with superman occurring "months" (13-18 months from 2023 would fit a may 2025 date, aligning it much closer to its real-world release date as well, which we can see gunn will fall back on given his, quite honestly, lax approach when it comes to canon overall)

but again thats just my theory

id really like to avoid this site being a place where anyone is attacked for having a theory, especially when its being kept intentionally vague on purpose; i understand being passionate about this stuff, i myself am a huge nerd but thats all every member here is is a nerd with their own theory

DCU Timeline (Current) - by me:
•The Suicide Squad (DCU version) - August 2023 (August 2020 in DCEU)

•Peacemaker S1 (DCU version) - January 2024 (January 2021 in DCEU)

•Creature Commandos S1 - February 2025 (3 months before Superman)

•Superman - May 2025 (Based on the newspaper set prop)

What do you think?

Creature Commandos: Judging from the weather and trees, assuming the intention of the art director's part, looks to be Spring. March 2022 at the very least. Leafs fully grow out in the South around mid-March.

The MK game Clayface plays is clearly MK1 (from late 2023) but real world release dates for these sorts of things usually dont line up with the comic book world version.

So, the current DCU Timeline is:
•The Suicide Squad (DCU version) - August 2020

•Peacemaker S1 (DCU version) - January 2021

•Creature Commandos S1 - March 2022

•Superman - May 2022

I'm expecting Gunn to see the DCU's version of TSS and Peacemaker's events as August 2021 & January 2022 (their release dates). Which I'm perfectly fine with since it is a new universe where these events aren't exactly the same anyway (even if it's still for the most part similar). Creature Commandos would then be in 2023 and Superman in 2025.

Probably 2024 in my personal opinion. Spring and set after MK 1 releases, which fits with present day.

Just curious, because it seems like everything I have said you have had some disagreement with through out the months or years.

What part of "shifting the events up a few years is too convoluted" makes less sense to you, @Rman ?
I'm curious.
I don't really see how it's convoluted when this is a separate universe and any discrepancy can be explained through that.

I don't mean any personal attack, but I'm allowed to have my own opinion. Sometimes I may agree, sometimes I might not.

When its nearly the exact same chain of events as Gunn himself stated, It is convoluted to assume it happened 3 years later. What caused it to happened 2 or 3 years later? If that explanation "doesn't matter", that is convoluted to me.

You can have your opinion, but even when my reasoning is backed up with facts I've noticed you've still been insistent to the contrary. "Is there something about me that you just dislike" is what I start to wonder at that point, because the patterns have exceeded.

You can believe its closer to the release date of Superman, that's fine. All I'm saying is the 'evidence' is limited-to-non-existent if you wanna convince me personally to alter my timeline.
