Uh, no. I was wondering why Milla flipped out, but we know that Mr. Fear has done something to her... which we'll see in #100.

Yeah, but not everyone knows who Larry Cranston is, he is very obscure. That confused a lot of people, considering he hasn't appeared since 1998.

This was a pretty weak arc. I mean The Gladiator? Come on Bru.....I know you're better than that.

The only thing about it is that since this arc is fitting into something larger, is that this feels incomplete.

Wow. Intense.

Milla killing that guy - great writing. That's the kind of thing Bendis did that made the book great. You will never see Mary Jane Watson do something like that. One reason I really like DD.

Several people called Mr. Fear...I don't know enough about him to have known that, so it was a surprise in a way, but it does all make sense.

Yeah there are about 4 different Mr. Fear characters. Well could it be worse, there are about 6 different Clayface characters.

Holy ****!?

I mean the issue was basically so and so for a 100th with you standard Fear blasts him with "new improved fear gas" and he spazzes out about all of his girlfriends and father.

I hate to be the one to say it but everything about Murdock's situation seems pretty recycled.

However...

Did they just kill
Ben Urich
!? :panic:

OK, I'm glad someone mentioned this. Especially you.

Probably the most uneventful landmark issue I've ever read. Except maybe the Spider-Armor thing way back when.

It was kind of neat to have all of the classic artists on the book, but...yeah.

Now, if that WAS Ben Urich....WOW. I totally take back what I said. I thought it was him at first too but I wasn't sure.

How could they just not say? Makes no sense. That's why I think it wasn't him.

Yeah, it definitely had a few gems to it. The line Matt's father used about being the manwithoutfear/being a man was probably one of the greatest lines used in DD history.

About Ben... I just think the whole tragedy of Matt completely blowing off the fact that someone was inside and then later on him finding out who was would be worth something.

But it was lackluster.

I pretty much agree with what MWoF said; it was an enjoyable issue, but didn't really hold a candle to Brubaker's run so far. Matt's angst is becoming as predictable as Peter Pakers'.

I was totally disapointed that there was only one issue's worth of new material... But it was good stuff.

Me too. I either didn't see or I forgot that there was nothing but reprints for 2/3 of the issue. I didn't even bother reading it.

Pretty big downer for one of my favorite series.

This was a 50MB file and I was disappointed to see that most of it was some lame reprints.

That said, the actual #100 was pretty good... but not as good as this title has been. Then again, not much can beat that superb prison arc.

I just wish they'd done less with the typical Matt Murdock angst and focused on the "Milla going ape**** and trying to kill someone" storyline.

I dunno...the angst was pretty good. I'd hardly call it "typical" - the guy was literally going crazy, seeing things that weren't there. Here we have the "Man Without Fear" and he's going crazy, scared out of his gourd, with no idea what's going on.

Since his whole thing is not being afraid of anything, I'm surprised "Mr. Fear" isn's more of a fixture on the book. Maybe this changes that.

I thought #101 was quite average until the end... where it's revealed Turk is working for The Hood.

I think the emotion that Brubaker gave Matt Murdock were well done. The whole office part with him telling Dakota to leave him alone was completely irrational and something most writers would try to bring to light through the basic "let me kick some helpless thugs ***". I liked the issue. However, The Hood? I can't get into him. I don't know anything about him. Pretty decent but I still can't get over how less than par #100 was.

anyone read the annual?

I liked it, it was cool how they set-up the Black Tarantula as a Spanish-Catholic Robin Hood type character
