Cloverfield (Spoilers!)

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

New trailer - WITH CRAPPY QUALITY

I can't tell whats going on but it looks freakin awesome, but it seems it's officially title Cloverfield. It seems Cloverfield is starting to get more into conventional advertisements soon

EDIT: Also an interveiw of one of the actress which includes pic.

Why do I get the feeling that they decided to call it Cloverfield because that's what everyone's been calling it for months?

I'll wait until I can see a high-quality version before I watch it.... if I watch it at all. I'm still tempted to just avoid every single new trailer, commercial and poster until I see the movie so I can go in with as much knowledge as the people with the camera.

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

I got to see it on the big screen. It was pretty amazing, but only because I didn't get to see the original teaser on the screen. (I waited to rent Transformers.)

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

I dunno. I stopped watching the trailer I got so bored.

I have a feeling this is a great idea, but not necessarily a sustainable one.

I really don't know or have much of an opinion. Here's hoping it's good!

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

I'll tell you one thing - the hype for this has died down so much that I doubt it'll be as good a movie as everyone thought.

Well you know they are not going to reveal anything about what's going on in any promotional avenues.

The hype hasn't died for me, everything I've seen is just so ****ing well done I just can't wait. I think the original teaser will go down as one of, if not, the best trailer ever.

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

That sounds like a whole new level of ADD.

Y'know, I always get annoyed by the myth we have shorter attention spans. Now, I know you're kidding around Planet-Man, but let me have a little rant not at you, but at ALL PEOPLE.

So, apparently, we have shorter attention spans. I don't think that's true. I think, what's happened, is that because we're born and raised on TV and now, the internet, we are capable of soaking up information at an incredible pace. Look at games like Big Brain Academy or Warioware to see what I mean. I think we're so good at assimilating information (though, we're no better at comprehending or understanding it and being able to use it) that it means we're able to "get" what's going on a lot quicker and once we've soaked up the information, if nothing remains, we get bored because there's nothing left.

In my head, this works thusly: you get a 5lb burger, and eat it in 5 minutes. I get a 5lb burger, and eat it in 2 minutes. I'm not eating less, I'm eating faster. I don't think people have shorter attention spans, rather, their attention works faster.

I also think that as you get older, it gets slower. But then I might be talking nonsense, I dunno.

Narp?

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

The trailers look really cheesy. I hope that's not what the movie's going to be like (I'm going to laugh when we find out that this movie is actually secretly another remake of the Blob).

Heroes & Cloverfield?

I doubt it, I think they're just messing with us. Though if it was planned to be like this, it would be amazing. If they actually attempted to make this a back door heroes movies I would applaud them just for the balls it would take to try..

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

Ugh.... I despise this whole "see the first ____ minutes of this film" trend so much. What's wrong with trailers? Can't people just wait to see the movie to see part of the movie?

I completely agree, it can really ruin a whole movie experience for me. Pass

Re: JJ Abrams' "Cloverfield"

Five minutes of Cloverfield!

Oh and, I've opted just to watch the J.J. Abrams' intro and not the actual clip itself, which I think we should consider spoilers, so please mark your reaction posts as such. :D

All it is, is the original teaser from the point of the "first quake"/roar at the party until the Statue of Liberty's decapitation, then about another minute of stuff we've seen in the first official trailer (the glimpse of the monster and the people hiding in the store.
