Either way, its a friggin' tragedy for the parents no matter their religious views (however psychotic said "religion" is), and a bit of compassion wouldn't exactly be uncalled for.

Harsh or not, the boy's parents and their BS "religion" were a direct cause for the continuing of his condition. In this day and age seizures can and are effectively controlled by medication/surgery. This wasn't an accident, this was child neglect.
And I want to make this clear, I have the utmost sympathy for Jett and his surviving sister. His parents on the other hand should be jailed.

This doesn't really have anything to do with this thread, but how come we're allowed to mock Scientology but not any other religions? Some will say it's because Scientology is a scam or a joke or whatever but some people think similar things about most religions. We should be able to talk about them all or none at all.

Everything has their fine line, but I guess it all depends on what is said exactly.
I did. The "Where's your Xenu now" line was inappropriate and I can only assume that's what is being talked about, because I see nothing wrong with questioning the tennants of a "religion" which do not allow people to receive proper medical care, and openly question whether or not that contributed to someone's death, and, if so, blaming the adherents of said religion.
I accept any infractions for the Xenu comment, and I apologize for being crass.
I will not apologize for criticizing Scientology for it's, frankly, retarded stance on mental illness and medications. Oh and the best part, according to new reports, apparently John was there when Jett had his final seizure.

On another note, I know that religion as a topic has a thin line between acceptable and outright offensive. But really? Dianetics is a sham. I know me and skotti got heated but it didn't come to a shout match. We were arguing probable/possible consequences on legitimate grounds.
