All Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder series discussion (spoilers)

I don't even know what to put here. How can you defend your liking of ASBAR by attacking Seinfeld fans?

I don't even...I mean...what...?

dawn-of-the-dead-head-explosion.jpg

I wasn't.

You just pretty much summed up what I was doing. Showing the stupidity of bringing up what someone likes or dislikes as a defence to why they are not allowed to like something.

like Planet-man did with me and the Incredibles

I actually agree with Mole.
ASBR is fun and awesome. It isn't THAT smart, but you can't read it and expect Shakespeare. It is a story of what Batman would be if he was a smartass punk that think he is invencible. Why that can't happen? The guy is already using a flying rat suit and beating up criminals in the streets, he CAN'T be mentally stable.

This book is fun, it has awesome action and some funny dialogues. There are more serious monologues but you can easily ignore those if you want just to have fun. The art is ****ing awesome too, some of the best Jim Lee is doing now.

...and Seinfeld rules.

So basically Mole, you're just going to read things we think are bad instead of the things that are actually good? Are you even human?

I never even read reviews of this. I just liked the look of the All-star line line.

I don't care if you like it or think it's bad. I enjoyed it and that is all that matters. Same If i hated it and you liked it , to you that would be all that matters.

So why are you wasting your time with comments like this. Like i said
As of today I'm doing my best not to get in to the big long draw out debates based on taste or opinions

I'm not been baited in to childish arguments (but nice try).

Your opinion = it's bad = correct
My opinion = it's good = correct

So smile relax and chill out. End of the day it's just a comic and I'm just some guy on the internet No one could win that argument as it's too childish.

I'll give you that this book is enjoyable, but it's not good.

Your opinion = this book is enjoyable = correct
Your opinion = this book represents quality writing = false

nope in that case

Your opinion = this book is enjoyable = correct
Your opinion = this book represents quality writing = correct

Why beacuse an opinion is all ways correct. Facts and stuff like that are what can be argued/proven wrong.

That's why I gave 2 completely different opinions and both = correct.

Now had i of said "It is a fact that this is good comic" then you say it is wrong. However "It is my opinion that it is a good" can not be argued as opinions no matter if you agree or disagree or are insulted or what ever are just that opinion and so correct.

I'm sorry mole, but I'm going to disagree with you here. As much as you allegedly enjoyed this, good writing is not dictated by opinion. When something is riddled by inconsistent characters, plot holes and nonsensical elements, it means that it was written poorly.

I never said it was dictated by opinion. Your twisting my words

I said if i said "It was a fact that it was good writing" then then that is debatable.

If it is my opinion it was good then you can't argue with an opinion

Also note I'm not defending the comic at all in fact i'm trying not to have a debate about it but everyone else seems determined to have an argument about a comic with someone they don't even know. That's sad.

You said

but you apparently are letting it go, so whatever.

Mole....as much **** as I give you for your choice in comics---these people are right.

AS Batman IS an enjoyable bad read. It is. It's like a trainwreck. You know it's bad---but you can't help but look.

But just because it's enjoyable doesn't mean that you can classify it as quality writing.

The same arguement could be said for my enjoyment of Mighty Avengers. It's an enjoyable mess (to me anyways) but at the same time I recognize all the errors of the book.

I think peoples' biggest problem here (and in other threads discussing personal interests and tastes) is the fact that it's been established that the property in question is bad---but you refuse to recognize/admit it. Nobody would care or berate you like this if you read it and said "This book is just plain arse.......but I still love reading it." Because by that logic you've read the same thing we've read and recognize that it's garbage. Recognition is the key thing here.

But instead you post about how said property is great and brilliant and the best thing since tea and biscuits, etc etc etc.

Nobody's saying that you need to drop your individuality and hate a book or movie because we all hate it. We're just asking for a little admittance in that the general consensus is correct...but your personal preference begs to differ.

Basically you're missing the difference between:

"It's ****ing garbage but I can't help but read it."

"This book is amazingly awesome lol I want it to have my babies."

There's recognition and enjoyment------and there's denial and enjoyment.

VVD is absolutely right here... This is one of the most enjoyable books on the stands because of how mind numbingly awful it continues to get...

Im totally happy reading a crazy book with cliche terrible dialogue and characterization, because its fun, and because its insane Frank Miller.

But that doesnt make it a good book.

Also: Someone needs to compile a list of all the ****ty things SSJMole Likes (like this), and all the good things he hates (Seinfeld, Hook, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, the very mention of Watchmen)

I don't get it:oops:

It's from DR STRANGELOVE OR HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB, a hysterical film in which a US general, Jack D Ripper, orders the US' contingent nuclear stealth bombers to bomb Russia because the communists are stealing his "precious bodily fluids". The film came out around the time of the Cuban missile crisis. It's a very funny satire of cold war politics (and still somewhat relevant today), and actually takes place in only three locations - the cockpit of one stealth bomber, the US war room, and Ripper's army base. Peter Sellers plays three roles, including Dr Strangelove which is who the picture is of.

I think it's the best "WTF?" pictures I could find. :D

Also - can we please stop the Mole bashing just because he's a Bizarro of our tastes? There's a difference between poking fun at a guy for his opinions, and downright slamming him, which is where this is going now. I've had to infract VVD already. Pictures of your head exploding = funny. Swearing and just asking him to be removed from existence = infraction.

PS: I never really got into Seinfeld. Now, Darkseidfeld - that would be great.

I dunno. Sienfeld's on DVD and stuff. It just not might have reached you and me.

yes it is but why I don''t know. (over here I mean) 99% of people I know in the uk can't stand it.

but on a related dvd thing. Bass I bought the big assed boxset of only fools and horses on dvd with the christmas specials included.

My favourite scene hands down =

Classic.

Not quite as funny as the first time I saw it, when I was about six or seven (I fell on the ground and laughed uncontrollably for about two solid minutes). Rodney punching his hand (the way Burt Ward used to) is just gold.

Nearly all of only fools and horses is gold. Classic show that I think a lot of people now days over look due to it's age. Non-UK people if you have the chance through dowloads or others check the show out.
