Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussion (spoilers)

They just released the first 3 minutes of AoS's season finale, which features Garrett and Ward having a conversation over the Gravitonium ball. I have a feeling this means we'll see Graviton either playing a role in the finale, or more likely escaping the box that contains him by the episode's end and playing a large role in Season 2.

Finale was a bit underwhelming, though Fury's role was decent. Liked he got in on the action some, though.

The last 10-15 minutes were pure awesome, though. Garrett using the machine to put the Deathlok armor on himself started out as the clichéd villain return set up, and then out of nowhere Coulson blows him to pieces with the weird gun. Fury making Coulson the director of the new SHIELD was cool, and explains how the Agents of SHIELD title will make sense in Season 2. Coulson and Garrett scribbling those weird signs/equations will obviously play a role in Season 2, as will Skye's parents, one of which we got a glimpse of in the closing minutes.

Also, was that a clone or twin brother of Agent Koenig?

I was hoping he'd stay around for season two but it looks like they have plans for him elsewhere. Oh well, should be good regardless.

I kind of felt this episode was a little weak outside of the action and FitzSimmons, but it could just be because I wanted more answers and a lot was left unanswered. I also didn't like that we have no idea what sort of state Fitz is in. I wonder if they might need to send him to T.A.H.I.T.I.

Also, was that a clone or twin brother of Agent Koenig?

Brother I'm assuming. At least we get more Patton Oswalt!

EDIT: I just remembered that Eric said he played COD all the time with his brother in his first appearance!

Who has plans for him elsewhere? He got blown to bits. Do you mean Bill Paxton is doing something else as an actor?

I'm thinking Graviton will be the big villain of Season 2. Especially with Raina and Quinn taking possession of him/the Gravitonium ball thing. I'm sure their research will lead to him escaping and wreaking havoc.

I'm thinking that's a likely outcome, but if they do so the TAHITI thing is getting overused. If Fitz gets the serum that'll be half the team treated with it. I did like that Fury alluded to Coulson being an Avenger, justifying him resurrecting Coulson, and being the foundation of the Avengers and the epitome of what a SHIELD agent should be.

Good call.

I meant Nick Fury. Marvel has plans for him.

I was thinking Skye's dad would be. That Spider-Woman theory is becoming closer and closer.

I was laughing really hard afterwards because I saw so many people complain about there not being an Avenger on the show and there totally was the whole time. They could have to reconfigure Fitz brain. Poor guy. I hope someone gives him a monkey.

Good call.

Actually, it could be an LMD. I was reading interviews and people kept asking if that was an LMD and they were playing it very coy.

Dude... get real.

Yes, Marvel has managed to talk Jackson into a couple cameos on the show, but he's certainly not going to become a full time cast member or even a regular cameo appearance maker on the show. The guy has a huge movie career, he's not going to downgrade to television.

I really doubt Skye will end up as Spider-Woman. The theory is based on extremely tenuous connections at best.

However, the allusions to her parents being super powered, combined with her receiving the Kree blood serum certainly indicate her developing powers at some point, though why she hasn't so far is kind of strange.

Garrett's super strength after having the serum injected hasn't been seen in Coulson or Skye... is that due merely to the serum's combination with Garrett's Deathlok parts or something?

I'd rather it not be an LMD, we'll see.

I've lightned a screencap of Skye's father:

Looks like he's bloodbathing with clothes on lol.. and that he is bald (and was shot in the head?).

The room seems in asian (chinese?) style.

Could her father be the real Mandarin (making a tie-in with the Iron Man movies) or Fu Manchu (tie-in of Iron Fist and introducing Shang-Chi's world?)

The Elixir of Life of Fu Manchu could be replace with a bloodbath..

Yeah, Skye does appear to be of mixed heritage (Asian and Caucasian), so I could see her father possibly being Mandarin, Fu Manchu, or another Marvel character of Asian origin. Guess that's an answer we'll have to wait until next year to get (as I can see them dragging out Skye's parents identities until close to the finale, if not the Season 2 finale itself).

Facepalm.gif I meant they have plans for him in the MCU, not on Agents of SHIELD.

I'm just saying, stuff is matching up is all :p Probably the Deathlok parts but who knows.

Certainly didn't come off that way:

Are the Marvel films having a Season 2 I don't know about? It was that post that made me think you were talking about Garrett originally. Then you clarified you meant Nick Fury. And then you're saying you meant Nick Fury, but in regards to the movies, not the show, despite the whole "I was hoping he'd stay around for season two" thing.

I think you need some sleep.

Also, regarding Agent Koenig's brother/clone/LMD, according to Jeffrey Bell (one of the show runners and writers):

"All we know is that when he met Eric, he talked about playing video games with his brother, and we met his brother."

Hopefully that puts to rest the LMD theories, because here's the thing: there's no logical reason to have an LMD copy of an existing, loyal SHIELD agent who works at a base in the Canadian wilderness and is in the least danger one can possibly be in as a SHIELD agent. Granted, he did die, but that was due to a fluke of Coulson's team, and then Ward, showing up to the base. Even then, Koenig wasn't a high ranking SHIELD member like Fury, he had no reason for them to create a LMD of him. So, in closing, it's his twin brother.

You should look at more interviews. They're kind of jumping around/avoiding the question.

Are you reading the same conversation I am? You're not making a bit of sense.

You yourself said you hope Fury would stick around for season 2 of AoS, despite Jackson being a huge movie star and likely neither having the time nor inclination to regularly appear on a weekly TV show.

Is your blood sugar low or something?

You should look at more interviews. They're kind of jumping around/avoiding the question.

Jeff Bell clearly stated that was his brother.
