52 Series Discussion (spoilers!)

This week was cool. Batwoman and Nightwing watching kids from Gotham singing christmas song.
Ralph got the gun from the first issue of 52, it's the gun he almost used to kill himself in the Hotel. (The Ambassador Hotel, mentioned in Nanda Parbat)
The Infinity Inc are a bunch of oversized childs, they get their gifts and don't even give one for Luthor (Lex made them what they are, is kinda the least you can do.)
But Luthor get his christmans present: The only person in the Everyman project that had been a failure and was going to die, now was adapting to the process and would get better. Luthor wants the organs of the man to study the adaptation so he can have powers too.
Charlie is out of his mind, not really much to say, except Montoya and Kane kiss.
The Space team is near Vega.
And for the best part, Adam and family go to the US and schange to their human form in front of everyone, thinking that if they show themselves as humans they could change the opinion of the word.
Well Amanda Waller doesn't think he got better and the Suicide Squad is ready to move. Atom Smasher, Count Vertigo, Captain Boomerang and 3 other dudes I can't recognize.
Awesome Issue, but I hate Amanda Waller, I don't know how someone didn't put a bullet or smashed her head yet.

I'm thining Isis will die in the Suicide Squad attack. Black Adam will go berserk and kill everyone in his way, doing just what Amanda wants.

I loved the bits with the Question... It was essentially a tribute to any readers of the original Question series.

Myra is his one true love who couldn't leave Hub City when the Question realized that the city was killing him... Myra's daughter (who must have died at some point) was left in Charlie's care.

I hope we see those characters mentioned before Charlie's death, which I think it has been implied will be next week or the week after.

So many people complain about the death of characters in 52, but I think this is a really good part of the series. No hero is safe, it's not like reading an arc in Spiderman where MJ is kidnapped and the villain wants to kill her, you know that she is not going to die even before the beggining (except in USM).
In 52 there is always the tension and fear of your character die and although many people complain about it, it's really an awesome part of the series, you CARE about the characters, no one is safe.
I can't wait to see next issue :(

I agree to a certain extent. It just sucks when you get a character like the Question who has an amazing amount of potential and fulfills a certain archetype in the DCU, and have him get killed off.

:( It's a shame, because I'm a big fan.

Awesome Issue again, week 34 has the best cliffhanger in all the issues. Luthor will bring out the rain, that means porject everyman is over as in the New year, Supernova will have to be really fast.
So the Suicide Squad attacked the Black Marvel familly near the Titans Tower, Black Adam easily knocks off Atom Smasher and Capt. Boomerang Jr.
Persuader almost kill Isis, but Osiris rip him in half in a moment of rage. The Black Marvel familly goes back to Kandaq and now Amanda Waller have new fotage that she can use to show the world that the Black Marvel familly is bad news.
It looks like Question died with the last year, but I don't believe until I see a corpse. Natasha finally hears her uncle about Luthor and she may survive the "rain" because of that.

I'm gonna miss 52 so much when it's over. :(

Ralph Dibny's going to discover that the only way to bring his wife back is to find a corpse with a strong soul that just recently died, and so he's going to resurrect her into the Question's body, setting the stage for a kookie situation comedy spin-off book, where Ralph and Sue-in-Question's-body are trying to live a normal, domestic life.

Anyone consider that the blast in which he saw his wife briefly alive might have killed Ralph?

What about Rip hunters thing that said they will end her rain or something. Im thinking it's either Lex or Egg Fu's group.

Yes. Yes I have. and I think that makes a lot of sense.

Hibiki- I think it said "He will stop her rain" but I'm not sure, not having the issue off hand. If that's the case, then I'd guess Hunter's talking about Steel manaaging to talk sense into Natasha and preventing her from dying.

The way Siglain talked at Newsarama, it seems the rain is the everyman dropping from the sky.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It had to happen, the space team loses one of the members... Animal Man.
They were able to throw Lady Stixx into a Sun-Eater together with the Emerald Head of Ekron, but Buddy was hit by the Necro-toxin and died, at the same time on Earth his wife knew he was dead.
Question is alive, but in bad shape, Tot keep sending flowers with healing properties from Nanda Parbat for Charlie and Montoya but they die as soon as they leave the city, so Montoya has the idea to bring Charlie to Nanda Parbat!
Osiris is depressed, the Titans threw him out and said that they would arrest him if he ever came back, but he finds a really good friend in Sobek, I really love this duo.
And it looks like Supernova is a friend of Rip Hunter, as they talk about using some weapons from other heroes and villains. Rip is terriefied of Skeets and he went to hide in Kandor! But Supernova thinks they are safe inside, Skeets would never search that place...guess who was floating in front of Kandor?

This issue seemed kinda rushed, but overral it rocked, as every other issue.

This is one of my favourite issues so far. I almost cried when Buddy died. Animal Man is one of the greatest DC characters ever. At least he had his time in the spotlight.

Rip Hunter is awesome. I loved all his dialogue.

The Question has to live so he can find The Answer.

You should read DC Comics because they're way awesome. Buddy and the Question are my two favorite non-A-listers in the DCU, and it sucks, but I have faith. And there's plenty of sick DC books out right now. ;) Ask me what, and I'll be happy to break down a reading list for you. For that matter, what does everyone think about setting up a thread that covers the current OYL/52 state of affairs across all the DCU lines, so that everyone's up to date, and new readers have something of a primer?

Also, **** this thread. I didn't pick any books up today, and I didn't want anything spoiled, because I knew a space character was going to die (and I KNEW it was going to be Buddy) but I was ****ed up enough that I clicked on the thread without even thinking. Now you bastards have spoiled it for me. I hate you, Project, and I plan on wearing your scalp as a beanie..... Not because of the fact that I hate you, but because it's in fashion.

like a cool timeline or something would be cool and what characters have been affected most significantly by the crisis, 52 and OYL.

A timeline would be a little much. I'm thinking of a basic description of the DCU before both Crises, then an explanation of what the Crisis was, what changes have been affected to the setting as a whole, and then bullet point each OYL series/miniseries, with all the details of the changes to the characters/settings.
