52 Series Discussion (spoilers!)

Dude. In the panel right before the magic hat starts talking to him, Detective Chimp is talking about how Dr. Fate was rattling on about how the dawn of the Tenth Age of Magic was starting the last time they saw him.

Shadowpact and the Croatans know that the new age is supposed to start when someone dons the magic hat, and I don't recall noone knowing a new Age had started. Zatanna obviously knew. It's just that she doesn't know the new rules to the game.

You are right, i didn't see it the first time. He really could be insane. I need some sleep.

Because Black Kryptonite can split Supergirl into two supergirls, and send one of them forward in time to the legion era?

ALSO: There are other reasons a presumably hetero male superhero would want two supergirls.

I thought Supergirl was kicked into the future during the finale events of Infinite Crisis?

Not just supergirl, black kryptonite split every kryptonian in two i think.

Pretty sweet.

So what is the glove and what does it do? And what is the emerald head of ekron.

Glove has one green kryptonite, one red kryptonite, one blue kryptonite, one black kryptonite and i think it has another kryptonite, but I don't remember.

The emerald head of Ekron....is the emerald head of Ekron. Guy must be very pissed because Lobo has his eye.

The Emerald Eye of Ekron has been around in DC Continuity for a very long time now, but the head from which it was plucked had never been dealt with... Until now.

*cues teaser trailer music*

Sweet that sounds cool. I wonder where the emerald torso of Ekron is.

I thought you were going to be much more crude. Thank you for restraining yourself. :D

The Emerald Eye is an old artifact that originated in Legion of Super-Heroes.

Yeah I read the wiki a few days back but I didn't fel satisfied. Still don't but oh well, I guess the next issue will hopefully explain it.

Wow, someone must have pissed him off BAD.
Meh, as long as Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid and Keith Giffen don't abandon 52, I'm cool with it.
Besides Wacker has already done 52 until 35 or something. They are going to be ok for the last 17 issues.

Edit: He was a great editor, but leaving in the middle of his run in 52 is just plain unprofessional.

Um.... Either someone at DC pissed him off real bad, or Marvel offered him a LOT of money and some sick-*** projects. I'd guess the latter.

Anyway, this week's issue was one of the best yet. The story of Lex Luthor and Infinity, Inc. which I thought was the weakest around, is starting to get interesting. Lex is his usual maniacal self. And Eliza seemed like a really cool character. :( Tragic, them killing her. Ralph's Adventures With The Magic Hat (which should become an going when 52 is over) could very well become my favorite plotline. It's going to be surreal as hell. Plus, we get Beast Boy, and there's nothing wrong with that.

And the coolest thing is how storylines in 52 are now starting to tie directly into the month's issue for OYL books. We get the Teen Titans with Zatara in 52 just as the Titans are hunting down Zatara in their book. We get our weird-*** jury-rigged Red Tornado as JLA sets up an army of Tornadoes. I don't know if it was planned that way or not, but it's definitely cool.

Dude.... This issue. There's a giant robot that walks along the floor of the ocean and is operated by intelligent gorillas out of a detachable cockpit where the crown of its his head should be. That's awesome enough to support a whole series. But that's not all. We also have Cricketron. And that's just the first few pages of the issue.

Then we have a cult based apparently worships a religious text celebrating Moriarty. Question, Montoya, Isis and Adam totally rock some beastmen cultist ***. And there's a new member of the Black Adam Family!

Man. I'm so enjoying this ****. They're channeling a dangerous amount of pulp adventure into these two stories.

Week 23 was awesome.
All the Mad Scientists in one island? Hm... Anyone remember Dr. Mind has hatched?
And BlackAdam proves once again that he deserves his ongoing series. The man is just ****ing awesome.

On a side note... In Egypcian mythology, isn't Osiris also Isis' Husband? Hm.... Maybe Black Adam will be betrayed?

Yeah. They're siblings and spouses. Somehow I doubt incest is going to become a principal theme of this story, though.

Have any of these new characters shown up in one year later? And who the hell is Nova? I don't think it's Superboy and I know it's not superman, but what the hell? And I'm glad they came back to the scientists story. My fave right now is the ralph dibny story.
