52 Series Discussion (spoilers!)

Yeah, thanks for the backup. I think thats awesome that they acknowledge the crossover as something really happening. I wonder if Marvel will follow suit.

Eh.... As long as it doesn't really intrude on the comics, I'm cool with it. I never really read JLA/Avengers, but the whole thing seemed kind of silly.

I think poor old Ralphy's just absolutely insane.

Edit: And if someone IS ****ing with him, I doubt it's the Dr. Fate hat.... After all, he saw his dead wife come back to life before he even encountered the helmet.

But the Helmet explained to him about the end of the Ninth age of magic and the new age of magic. How could Ralph know it? The Helmet talked to him alright.

He was imprisioned in the amulet, but escaped before IC. He and Nabu had it out and Nabu won, then got all pumped up to go take on The Spector.
Yes, but after Mordru got out I don't remember Nabu being chaotic or evil. He was a force of good in the Day of Vengeance Special.

Ralph is the greatest detective in the world, and he's worked closely with a Who's Who of the known mystics in the DC Universe. I'm sure Ralph picked up from someone about the nature of magic changing. After all, it's a big event. And I wouldn't be surprised if he picked up enough about how magic works to subconsciously create a plausible hallucination.

That he was. He's a Lord of Order (Not sure if that means anything in this new-angled tenth age of magic)

One of the things I always think about is just how orderly a universe with no free will is, and how appropriatly chaotic a universe full of life and free thinking individuals is... Just sayin, you know?

So, Wacker and others have said that they're talking about what books are going to spin off of 52 when all is said and done.

:D Am I the only one hoping for a Beefeater ongoing?

The Question and Black Marvel Family. The rest can go to hell.

Those are honestly my top picks too.

I love Animal Man, and I'd like to see him in some other books, but I really think Morrison took him as far as he can go with his old series

I think a Pope Lobo miniseries could be fun but other than that, I agree that only Black Marvel and the Question (maybe with Montoya), are the only ones who deserve an ongoing.

And on a somewhat related note.... Renee keeps talking about how she's worried Vic's going to die. Am I the only one with the suspicious hunch that she's going to be the one dead by the end of 52?

Edit: Unless Ralphy-boy becomes the new Dr. Fate. :D That could be an interesting series.

In One Year Later the only person that knows about the new age of Magic is Captain Marvel, not even Zatanna or Enchantress knew why their power were strange. I think is the real deal.

I would love a new Animal Man by Grant Morrison (The other writer was not so good, and when Animal man got to vertigo it sucked BAD, i couldn't even read the third one.)

Dude. In the panel right before the magic hat starts talking to him, Detective Chimp is talking about how Dr. Fate was rattling on about how the dawn of the Tenth Age of Magic was starting the last time they saw him.

Shadowpact and the Croatans know that the new age is supposed to start when someone dons the magic hat, and I don't recall noone knowing a new Age had started. Zatanna obviously knew. It's just that she doesn't know the new rules to the game.
