Someone was speculating on Brubaker's run at manwithoutfear.com

This is probably one of the greatest things I've heard. He said it was done in "powers" already.

Daredevil's in jail and Hell's Kitchen/rogues get worse. They have no choice but to let him out.

I would love to see it go down like this.

arrrrrr, why did i read that?!
:(
:(
it all makes sense.... bendis had no other option but to stick matt in jail

i can see it now...

he may be let out (public outcry or something like that) but! Matt will NEVER practice law again - thats a major part of Matt/Daredevil gone!

if this is true, marvel is making a major major change with the character (and bollocks to you all who didn't like HOM and the Decimation idea), i LIKE risks :)

Well put sweet, avatar guy. Don't worry about it spoiling anything it's just speculation at the moment.

Nope, I don't see this happening. Here's what happened in POWERS:

At the end of Season One, a Superman analog went nuts and nuked the Middle East, fire-bombed the Pope, and other generally unpleasant things (the most personal: raping protagonist Deena Pilgrim. In outer space. It's not as bad as I make it sound. Really.)

As a result, the Government bans all use of superpowers, enforced by police using mobile power-drainers. Except the villains, naturally, see no reason to follow the no-powers law. And with no heroes to stop them, a gang war breaks out for control over the city, which is the situation at the beginning od Season Two, when Pigrim awakes from her coma, as a result of the cosmic rape.

It ends up with a scenario similar to the ones seen between "Hardcore" and "King of Hell's Kitchen", culminating in the heroes finally just teaming up and kicking ***, operating as vigilantes, once more. Not much more to it than that.

But it's fundamantally similar to what happened to Matt, during his year in hiding. So I don't expect a repeat of the same situation.

Daredevil #78

Kingpin's interaction with the F.B.I. Director is awesome. Did he mean anything by I know who you really are? Fisk's got everyone by the balls and he loves it and it shows in his character. Two others know where The Murdock Papers are... The Murdock Papers are documents Kingpin has been keeping on Daredevil/Matt Murdock since he found out in Born Again... that's a lot of time to prove one man is flying around in a devil costume at night.

Who are the other two people?

Matt's fighting with Elektra and Milla's scared to death. Elektra finally puts Matt into submission and tells him to turn on the TV. Milla walks back into the room the TV's on but the two are gone. Daredevil and Elektra are flying through the air together.

They're on a rooftop talking about the papers...

More Fisk Director action with what I already mentioned.

Owl's sitting in jail. They're all watching the tv about Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Owl tells one of the inmates to go tell the warden he wants to talk to him. He looks up at a picture of Fisk and says, "This **** ain't happenin'..."

Foggy's getting mobbed outside of his house by the press. He's about to flip out when Luke Cage and Iron Fist escort him to his car, telling the press they've been hired as his bodyguard. Rand talks with Foggy asking him where Matt is and telling him Widow hired them to get him out of the country. Foggy says he's going home and starts crying in the car.

Daredevil and Elektra are on the rooftop and Widow comes down ready to pounce on Elektra. Telling Matt Elektra's "Feeding him to the lions and she's going to betray him" constantly calling her a "ninja" and saying she runs The Hand now (Wolverine series? Is she? ) Elektra says she doesn't know her and cares about Matt. She tells the two where the papers are in a building owned by Kingpin's lawyer who doesn't even know what he has. Del Toro walks into the conversation and makes a funny about Daredevil having "Backup singers" now. She's informed of the situation and tells about how she got fired from the F.B.I.

WARNING POSSIBLY COOLEST ENDING EVER!!!!!

Elektra says that her and one other person knows about the paper. Daredevil says who...

Suddenly he reaches out and grabs a playing card aimed at Elektra's throat. The card's the Ace of Spades and Daredevil and says, "Nevermind, I figured it out."

End...

Um ****ing awesome....

5/5 this arc gets better and better.....

Yeah, that would be cool and it makes sense, without either DD or trhe Kingpin the freaks would try to take over Hell's Kitchen and make it a thousand times worse. The Kingpin is evil but he also brings stability but rogues like Purple Man, Mr. Fear, Mr. Hyde, etc would bring chaos and death.

Ok, back.

#79 was awesome. Pretty much all action with a sneaky Wilson Fisk twist. Here's how it went down.

Bullseye attacks the party of Daredevil, Elektra, Black Widow, and White Tiger (In her civies). Bullseye and Elektra fall through a skylight and take it down stairs.

Del Toro keeps whining about wanting to help because she has the amulets. Daredevil says no because she's no experienced enough to handle any "supervillain" let alone a crazy unpredictable one like Bullseye. Del Toro keeps pushin' for it and Daredevil elbows her in the face and throws her off the building where she lands into some trash...

Black Widow, shocked at what Daredevil did, asks if he's out of his mind and might've killed Del Toro. Daredevil says she can handle it, she only has a broken elbow. Widow says she can stop this fight with Bullseye now (kill him). Daredevil says he doesn't want a big superhero melee because of his current situation. He tells Natasha to go get Milla ("my wife") and get her out of the country.

Elektra and Bullseye are fighting inside a building with innocent bystanders looking at the show. Daredevil comes down and gives a blow to Bullseye where he takes shards of glass and throws it at him/the people. The next panel shows Bullsye falling out the window and Daredevil standing there with almost all the glass either caught by his billy club or in him (ouch) in order to protect the people. One shard slipped past and hit a girl in the neck. The woman dies.

The fight moves to the outside where it turns into a 2 vs 1 with Daredevil/Elektra vs. Bullseye. At some point Bullseye runs away to get away from them and get "The Murdock Papers" but he gets hit by a truck. Elektra tries to finish him but Daredevil says no because he doesn't want another death involved in this (It makes sense when you read it). Elektra tells him he has to get to the Murdock Papers and as Daredevil realizes he forgot all about them...A bullet hits Daredevil in the shoulder.

The FBI director asks for confirmation that Daredevil is down. They show a sniper from a helicopter who says back to the director that he's down and they were far enough away to avoid any detection by his supersenses he also adds... "My slate is clean now, right" (I wonder who this is)

Director says now all they need is the Papers. Wilson Fisk who is tied down like Hannible Lector confesses there is no Murdock Papers and it's just something he told his trusted associates (Bullseye and Elektra) so that everyone thought he actually had the proof and people would respect him instead of letting Daredevil step on his toes. Fisk adds that they now have all the proof they need because Daredevil's blood is on the streets so get the blood samples that will match with Matt Murdock and that's all you need. The FBI director asks for confirmation about Matt and they tell him he's gone. Fisk says injured superheroes always go to the "Night Nurse" and there's one person who knows where she is... Ben Urich wrote a write up in "The Pulse" about her. And if Urich doesn't tell he will be thrown in jail. Show Urich's desperate look on his face

/end

Bendis loves this book.

Maleev can draw action.

Bullseye's dialogue is so much fun. I'll repost his quotes in the future.

Fisk is a coniving son of a *****. And Bendis writes him brilliantly.

Owl?

Who was the sniper?

Nice Pulse tie in.

Still no reason for Urich's motivations on outing Matt.

5/5

My guess is Echo. Who else could take a shot from that far without the noise from the chopper blades distracting her?

Jessica Drew could probably pull it off, but it seems less likely to be her.

Oh, and it seems that my "women and insititutions" theory is still correct.

For those who lost track, that's Black Widow (SHIELD/military), Del Toro (FBI/Federal law), Milla/City Council (local government, the 'ordinary' people), Elektra (organized crime), and now Night Nurse (medical).

So my guess remains: Sister Maggie (representing the Church, of course) will lend a hand in the resolution of the Murdock Papers story.

By the way, nearly ALL the women in Daredevil's life have either conflicted or estranged ties to the institutions they represent. Maggie flaunted the sacred rules of the Church when she got pregnant. Night Nurse is probably not a licensed physician. Elektra's loyalty to Fisk was driven by cash (and maybe fear, who knows?). Del Toro has since quit the FBI. And Black Widow's relationship with SHIELD has always been tenuous.

Interesting... But if Echo and Matt are friends would she really be willing to take him out? He did recommend her (if she is Ronin)

Why do you think it's a chick?

I got my balls detached last time I tried to say I was impressed. No, really it was a great issue and this arc is probably Bendis' best in my eyes.

And it's still a very good theory. I'm really hopeing to see Maggie too.

The sniper, according to the experts at ManWithoutFear.com, is a villain named Paladin. Anyone got info on him?
A simple google search brings up
Sean McQuaid said:
Paladin (true name unknown):
Ally to the Avengers; frequent agent of Silver Sable, sometimes working with Sable-affiliated mercenary groups such as the Wild Pack, the Outlaws and the Intruders. A high-priced hero-for-hire whose only known name is his costumed alias, Paladin has a superhuman physique, wears specialized combat gear and wields a high-tech stun gun. His celebrated and lucrative career has brought him into contact with various non-profit adventurers, including the Wasp, with whom he was romantically linked for some time. As such, Paladin has been an occasional associate of the Avengers (assisting in their defeat and capture of Screaming Mimi and the Grey Gargoyle), and has also worked alongside individual Avengers affiliates such as Captain America, Daredevil and Spider-Man. Paladin and the Wasp have long since drifted apart, though; an infamous ladies' man, the globe-trotting Paladin continues to woo women around the world, while Wasp has renewed her romance with her ex-husband and Avengers teammate, Hank Pym.
Could this be it, possibly?

I think Owl is going to cause more trouble for DD than first realized. Perhaps he is having his lawyers move to throw out the charges against because of the legal stituation of him being captured by a wanted criminal, Daredevil, This could allow other DD villains to follow suit.

You love drilling this in don't you?

Yeah, we get Owl wasn't featured in this issue. But there is something he's gonna do. I like your theory that he's going to be the pioneer of "I was arrested by Daredevil, I want justice." Owl's definitely the most appropriate villain for that role.
