he didn't say it was a reboot, just that it wasn't a sequel. He said he just wanted to make a good wolverine movie. Think of it as James Bond. Before Daniel Craig, the continuity was pretty loose, but there were still things (actors, villains, etc) that tied the stories together.

You know with Aronofsky directing I'm going to let them divert from continuity as much as they want.

Fair enough.

I liked Pi and Requiem for a Dream as much as the next guy, but its still lame.

Mmmm... Pi.

For me, on the one hand, I'm curious to see what Aronovsky, who doesn't do this kind of thin, will do with Wolverine. Because he's a big name and he doesn't do this stuff, I think it's could be very defining and original.

Unfortunately, I hated PI and THE WRESTLER, and I've not watched any of his other movies and don't particularly want to. BLACK SWAN? I can't stand Natalie Portman. I don't know why, I really don't, I liked LEON, but she just drives me mad. So I wish it was someone else, but maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll watch his Wolverine movie, 'get' why everyone loves him, and then I can go back and watch his movies and enjoy them.

I'm not a Natalie Portman fan either. Loved Black Swan though. .... What about Requiem for a Dream? The Wrestler is my favorite movie of all time pretty much though. Wait... Is this the X-Men: First Class thread?

'Tis indeed, English.

I haven't seen REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, and despite my love for Jennifer Connelley, I don't plan on it. :/

Vaughn Compares X-Men: First Class To Both Bond And Twilight

Now to be fair, Marvel's X-Men comics cornered the market on teenage angst well before Stephenie Meyer was even a teenager herself. And half the movies released in the past few years have invited Twilight comparisons in hopes of attracting just a fraction of that franchise's audience.

However, by mentioning the T-word, Vaughn risks making X-Men's core, if small, audience even more skittish. But the director also makes reference to another successful movie franchise, potentially good news for fans of 007. I said potentially.

"The best way of describing it is X-Men meets Bond, with a little bit of Thirteen Days thrown in for good measure," he says. "It's set in the '60s, and I basically molded a young Magneto on a young Sean Connery. He's the ultimate spy — imagine Bond, but with superpowers."

It's got a lot of teenage angst. The Twilight girls will like it.

that's not really saying, "This movie is a lot like Twilight". He just said there are aspects of it that will appeal to that crowd. But who wasn't expecting there to be teen drama in this?

If your love for her is purely visceral and sexual, then you're not doing yourself any favors by NOT watching Requiem. Thats all I'm saying.

Mmmmmm...Jennifer Connelly...mmmmm.

Joe Kalicki.

It still won't be as awesome as my pitch for a period First Class movie.

Also, almost all of the tags for this thread are characters who aren't in the movie. Hah! Tags...

See the teaser trailer on their facebook page

A lot of it is clips from the other X-Men movies. Pretty much everything else is Michael Fassbender as Erik/Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier

The video in your link has been blocked by Fox, which makes me believe it is the same fake trailer I just watched.

I'm impressed. Don't think there needs to be a scene with Magneto pulling a sub out of the water, but it's too late now. Also, if they are going to use Nightcrawler's dad, they should've just put NC in it. That little bit of the trailer was just NC only red.
