I'm thinking about attempting to make a DOFP fanedit of just the 1970s stuff that happened before Wolverine arrived. This would also make the real DOFP, when you get to it (in 2023, in movie years), kinda have an Endgame vibe like, "hey we've seen that time period before".

as far as i remember it doesnt really contradict anything except rogue is the one time displacing logan after a certain point and the rest is extended scenes as opposed to alternate ones

They said it was non-canon on the X-Men: Apocalypse commentary because Mystique had never been in that version of cerebro, when she had in X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut. I think it's a dumb reason, but it is what it is.

In my personal opinion, we're taliking about a continuity with a lot of worse continuity errors... for me it's better to have the Rogue Cut instead of the theatrical cut. We can close Rogue's plot from the X-men trilogy.

i havent seen the rogue cut in quite a while if at all in its entirety but according to the x-men movies wiki raven destroys cerebro in it? that might be a little more continuity-breaking but again it was destroyed a rebuilt off-screen between first class and dofp so…

dumb question but I just finished watching Deadpool 2 for the first time: Does Cable's time machine make the occupants "overlap" or replace their past selves? When Cable saves Wade or when Deadpool saves Vanessa, are there not two Cables or two Deadpools?

From my take on his device, and how his whole body painfully fluctuated from it starting-up, I'd say - 100% yes. You essentially replace your previous self if it co-exists in the same space.
Temporal Aura related perhaps.

I have a theory that when Wade sacrifices himself and Cable's teddy bear changes it's because Cable traveled back from 2054 and replaced his past self again. Because if not, I don't understand how the bear can change.

DP was always inherently meta enough to be the only discontinuity that didnt NEED explaining away but this is a decent enough assumption and also adds to Wade's powers coming from an inherent mutation brought out of him without actually being a real mutant or the comic's implanted altered wolverine healing factor
