Uncanny X-Men series discussion (Spoilers!)

x-men: manifest destiny was 5 issues

the stories in them have been split up and slipped into the back of various x-trades recently as filler

I read #507. I think the X-Men should fight more giant monsters.

Pietr got a tattoo.

Can someone explain Angel turning into Archangel to me? Why's it such a big deal and why's it happening?

Magneto!

Angel turned into Archangel in the Xforce 1st arc, i have not read the uncanny x-men issue, maybe it has something to do with that?

In the first arc of X-Force, The Purifiers conducted an experiment on Angel, that caused the Apocalypse technology still in his blood stream to reactivate. Now he can change back and forth at will, but his psyche is deteriorating because the Horseman of Death urge's are coming through. It's supposed to be one of the big secrets Cyclops has been keeping from everyone not involved with X-Force.

Cyclops has lots of secrets going on.

Gee, and let's not forget the whining Scott did because Charles kept secrets.

That image says "Greg Land works well on his knees".

I've never been so uninterested in Jean's return and I am right now.

I thought it looked like Emma....?

Yeah, see, there in iies the problem doesn't it. Since this is Greg Land, we really don't know who it is until the book comes out. At least another artist could make them look different.

I'm not surprised this happened, with the Phoenix force leaving Korvus and Rachel at the end of X-Men: Kingbreaker

though I was hoping Dark Beast would reconstitute Nate Grey, and have the Phoenix Force use him as an avatar, dunno why.

Hmm... I like Matt Fraction but I don't really care about this. :(

And the solicit for #512 implies it's Jean:

UNCANNY X-MEN #512
Written by MATT FRACTION
Pencils & Cover by YANICK PAQUETTE
80s DECADE VARIANT BY TBA

AGAIN!?

Un-****ing-believable. Are there no new stories left to be told with the X-Men? ****ing hacks. So glad I dropped this.

Actually, with Jean being the avatar of the force of life and rebirth, I'm kinda surprised that you're flying off the handle of an entity being written in character.

*shrugs* c'est la vie.

I'm just tired of Pheonix stories. All Pheonix stories; no matter who the host is, but Jean in particular. Really, what's left to be done with this plot?

"Oh my goodness! Jean's back."

"Wow, didn't see that coming even though it happens every year in real time and every two weeks in our slowed down comic continuity time."

"Oh well, let's kill her again so Cyclops can get mopey and emo for a while. Don't worry though, he'll be over it by the time she comes back again so we can continue the same cycle for all time. Really milk the fans for all they're worth."

I get it. The Pheonix comes back, that's what it does. But why can't she just fly away into space and stop being the most redundant plot device in comics.

If I were you guys, I wouldn't flip out until the issue is out. Every time (and yes, every single time) you guys have gone bat-**** crazy, you guys always turned out wrong.
