Ultimates V2 #10 Discussion (SPOILERS)

Sounds like "Ultimate Conan" to me, just add swords...

Anyway, thinking about #11 - remember back in the Defenders issue, when MM went out of his way to show how "lame" insect-related powers were? Then why did he bring in "The Swarm" as one of his villains? Will she be shown to be totally useless, will she be Ant-Hank's nemesis or is MM going to show that the powers might be useful?
Useful sounds good

Every one on the team is essentially an "evil version" of one of the Ultimates...it might indicate that they don't trust Hank. Actually they've already hinted at not trusting him.

If MM thought the insect-thing was really so lame, though, wouldn't he have wanted Hank Pym in his giant form and brought in another "giant" villain? Plenty of 616 characters to choose an Ultimates form from. He choose the "evil" analog for a reason, and I just thought it was strange, given how he went out of his way to show Hank's Ant-Man powers as a miserable failure in the Defenders issue.

You might be on to something there...

Damn thats a sweet cover. I like it even more than #12's, mainly due to the symbolism and its overall badassedness.

Expect the Swarm to be killed by bug spray. Millar was looking for a villian for the Ultimate U that could be killed by a household object, and the Swarm was brought up.

This is also the way Millar got Hurricane as a speester.

I like Rhyo's thoughts here. Also keep in mind that Hank didn't give America up in anyway. Sure, he let them use his Ultrons and his Insect Tech but I think Hank's gonna use the tech against Swarm and the Ultrons against the liberator's super-soldiers when he redeems himself. This way hopefully they won't be so anti-Hank Pym when it's over because it wasn't like he betrayed the team he was never part of.

Ehhh, I'm not willing to go that far to cut Hank a lot of slack. He KNEW there was going to be an attack in the Triskelion, just not quite the scale the attack would be or when it would be. And he had to know that an attack on the Triskelion and New York would involve people getting hurt/killed as part of it.

His line to Colonel Red Whatever is:
"Why didn't you tell me, Colonel? Why didn't you tell me you were plannng something on this scale?

So they've already approached him with the idea of an attack and the idea that the robots need to be used to keep order after something. Pretty sure that would result in trial and conviction on the charge of treason - hence why I don't think we'll be seeing Hank making it out of this series living, or at least as a citizen of the US.

Maybe Hulk takes him back to Tibet as a personal servant.....

I have a theory, or maybe a question, or it may be something already addressed and I didn't take the time to go through this mammoth of a thread and read it, but here it goes.

I feel asleep last night reading Ultimate comics, when I woke up, I resumed reading at the same place I left off at. This seems to be a common, and happy, since I hate the act of falling asleep myself, occurence that happnes to me. Half the time I don't even realize I fell asleep, anyways, when I awoke, I saw the page in which Joe Liberman runs off to save the people in the burning house. They said his nervous system fried.

Okay, so maybe the moment he started to 'use' his superpowers, he overjuiced on them, and died.

He supposingly accepted the super soldier serum as well.

Now, let's say that This 'Colonel' has yet to have an extreme test on himself with these new superpowers. He may also burn out after he uses them as well.

Which would be a nice copout ending Millar is sometimes known for afterall.

Just a theory.

I think I mentioned this earlier.

I'm pretty sure this is what will happen.

Wait... didn't it mention that the Colonel was sick? Or did I make that up?

Because Steve was also a little sick boy...

You really meant "good version", didnt you ? That with Ultimate Cap essentially wearing a Fritz-style helmet and having quite a Nazi sort of behavior...
It feels good to see USA getting demolished, for a change.

It definitely mentioned that.

so the secret to the super-soldier syrum is being sick, such a wonderful discovery.

Anyway, Swarm, the bug spray thing, and Hawkeye, yeah, Hawkeye is Waaaaaay to cool to be bothered with little things :D
