I will have to rank this issue of The Ultimates as one of the best yet!

C'mon, Harper, throw the long version of your opinions into the ring... best scene? Favorite art bit?

The Story - Wow!
The Art - Wow!
The Background story - Wow!

Just kidding. There really isn't too much that I can say BAD about the issue. It was well worth the wait, and I enjoyed every page of it. Besides the last page, I like the scenary of Hawkeye plucking his fingernails and using them as weapons. Ultimate Hawkeye!

The last page with Cap was the Coupe de Grace'!

Ha, I just noticed that Captain America is the same image from the annual. Good catch there Jackie.

I have a theory, or maybe a question, or it may be something already addressed and I didn't take the time to go through this mammoth of a thread and read it, but here it goes.

I feel asleep last night reading Ultimate comics, when I woke up, I resumed reading at the same place I left off at. This seems to be a common, and happy, since I hate the act of falling asleep myself, occurence that happnes to me. Half the time I don't even realize I fell asleep, anyways, when I awoke, I saw the page in which Joe Liberman runs off to save the people in the burning house. They said his nervous system fried.

Okay, so maybe the moment he started to 'use' his superpowers, he overjuiced on them, and died.

He supposingly accepted the super soldier serum as well.

Now, let's say that This 'Colonel' has yet to have an extreme test on himself with these new superpowers. He may also burn out after he uses them as well.

Which would be a nice copout ending Millar is sometimes known for afterall.

Just a theory.

Or his face gets melted off.

Leaving him with a skull-like face. But because of all the melty-ness, it isn't white like a normal skull, it is more like blood red. And they shall call him

dum dum DU-UM:
Colonel Crimson Death's-Head.
Or something like that.

Here's my personal theory for how the moniker of "Red Skull" is reached:

The introduction to this scene would be to that the Invaders are engaged in a fierce battle over the fate of America. Cap catches up with the Colonel as he tries to protect his leaders.

Cap and "the Colonel" are in their final battle. Colonel has the upper hand in the fight and is taunting Cap. "Poor Captain America, how sad it is that you should be the guardian of the gate when your citadel's walls are breeched and your empire is burned to the ground leaving nothing but ash in its wake. And for all time, history will look upon the fall of America as the failure of its sentries and you will forever be remembered as the Shield of Reckoning." Cap counters, "History will remember this battle as the day the world attempted to rein in the great empire and was made known what true power really is. So profound will the your annihilation on this day be that you will remembered only as an omen, the Red Skull of Doom. The doom of anyone who would challenge America again." Cap gets behind the colonel and puts him in a head lock then double eye gouges him with his middle and index fingers. While the Colonel is screaming out in pain, Cap rips his head off. Cap carries the head around in a bag for the remainder of the issue. The next time we see "the Red Skull of Doom" cap has just boiled off the flesh but left the red stain of blood. It's then used as a SHIELD symbol in Ultimates V3.

Captain America isn't the kind of person who would do say that, or do that.

I can hear the bombastic music soundtrack in my head as I read this...

Sounds like "Ultimate Conan" to me, just add swords...

Anyway, thinking about #11 - remember back in the Defenders issue, when MM went out of his way to show how "lame" insect-related powers were? Then why did he bring in "The Swarm" as one of his villains? Will she be shown to be totally useless, will she be Ant-Hank's nemesis or is MM going to show that the powers might be useful?
