I saw clips from season 3 with behind the scenes in the prison set and a short clip of Michonne beheading some walkers. While I have almost given up on this show several times, I will prob give S3 a chance. See how they handle the prison. I'm trying to be optimistic.

I actually wouldnt care if he died too but its NOT from any racist bs, I just dont like his character. Hoping to find out about the father and son from the first season though! I havent read the comics but I love this show!!

Alright, well the first three posts I read from you were all about how you disliked being a black character in the video game and how you hoped the black guy died. If you honestly didn't mean it "like that" then I apologize, but maybe be a little more careful how you phrase things.

T-Dog or T-Bone or whatever his name is is probably the most worthless TV character ever. If he dies it means nothing. So if he does I hope they don't turn it into a huge thing.

I am getting the feeling he
will be sloppily beheaded outside the prison by the Gov
. Just a hunch. And honestly that will suck because when its a character you a) don't give a sh*t about and b) are actively rooting for to die, it sucks all the impact out of that scene. That being said, I don't think the show has killed anyone the same way they died in the comic yet have they?
 
This is an actual facebook conversation I had with a friend of mine about this show.

friend: psyched to watch Season 3 of the Walking Dead

me: Read the comic. it's WAAAAAY better

friend: I've heard the comics are great, but I'm more of a visual guy anyways.

me: um....comics are visual. And they aren't subject to the same censorship as tv so they can (and do) do things in the book they will never ever do in the show. Don't get me wrong. The show is ok. But compared to the comic it is a cheap imitation.

friend: When I say "visual" I mean that my imagination generally sucks or a better word might be my imagination is "lazy".

me: you don't know how comics work do you?

Ok. I'll start. I thought the episode was a great start and restored a little bit of faith in the up and coming season. Things that I didn't like were the characterizations of Carl and Sophia. Carl grew up too fast and Andrea isn't as strong as the books and seems to have gotten weaker
(and I'm not just talking about her fever)
since the second half of last season. Maggie's step sister is smoking hot and I guess they're setting up a
more mature relationship than the Sophia/Carl one
. Makes sense since the actor playing Carl is probably going to grow up a lot between the next few seasons.

Michonne was badass. No surprise there.

The last 20 min were very intense and I was out of my seat at the Hershel part.
Mixing the part of Allen and Dale together.
Again, things like this excite me while I watch but I miss the dynamic of some of those other characters. But at least they're not leaving the concepts out of the show entirely.

I've thought I was a bit more aware of the casting but I didn't see anything about them
casting the prisoners so I was glad to see an Axel at the end there
. So far it was a good start.

Governor and Woodbury next week I guess.
 
That was probably the best episode since the pilot. I'm actually excited for this show again. Please don't **** up the Governor.
 
Finally watched the season 3 premiere this weekend. I think this was the best episode since the pilot also. Really good. I like that this group is becoming the hardened group of bad ass killers we know and love from the comic. Esp Carl. I do not know how they are going to do the Gov tho. I have a feeling that most of the encounter with the Gov will not be easy to translate to TV.
 
I wonder if they're going to show any of the prison next week or just Woodbury. Episode 2 of season 3 was complete badass. I loved how Hardwick interviewed "Tomas" and said "here's the guy who
almost had a great stroyline going. But died."
The whole thing with setting up
and ending the relationships
with the prisoners was so fast paced and tense. It was great. And
"Andrew" was the name of the guy Rick left outside.

Really not a big fan of the Rick/Lori angle. It's the end of the world and your wife is pregnant. I know he's tougher now than in the previous seasons and Lori wronged him and is an annoying character but for the sake of holding it together... I mean, come on.

My roommate watched the first two seasons in 3 days. I watched some of season 2 episodes. I'm going to try to forget most of season 2 happened.

See, I felt like the second ep took a step back. I think the stuff with the prisoners was totally watered down. We got the one dick prisoner who Rick has to kill and it wasn't even as cool as when he did it in the book. But besides that the rest of the prisoners story was eliminated. I get that it sort of had to be since there are no twins to behead and even if there were it prob wouldn't have made it to TV. That made me realize that it is likely the entire confrontation with the gov will be watered down due to TV. I imagine most of the rape/torture of Michonne will be cut. Her revenge will also likely be cut.

I am going to come out now and call it, Laurie and the baby will NOT be gunned down by the Gov's forces. My guess is she will die (IF she dies) in childbirth or something lame like that.

I agree about the whole Laurie/Rick thing. While their relationship wasn't awesome in the book you never got the sense he didn't love her or that he just plain old didn't give a sh*t about her like you do in the show. I hate how every time he "talks" to her he gets this weird slack jawed look on his face as he stares out into the ether. It's annoying. And I guess this means after she is dead the bit with the phone will be cut since he obviously won't miss her that much. (I liked the creepy phone bit)

And what was the deal with Carl disappearing and then mysteriously showing up with med supplies? Wtf? I'm glad they are making Carl into a bad ass but I would have liked to see some of that. Especially if it meant some of the crying and heartfelt stares at poor old Hershel got cut. And why would they have brought Hersh along on the cell block clearing mission anyway? Retarded. I did like how Laurie was like "...for Carl to do whatever it is he does these days". Prob the line of the episode.
