The Top 100 Films You've Ever Seen

I plan to rent Minority Report for this Saturday. My dad and I saw it opening weekend and loved it, but that's the only time I've ever seen it, and I didn't feel it needed a repeat viewing. It's been about 5 years, though, so I'd like to see it again now.

That's probably number 70 or 80 on my top 100.

It was definitely in my Top 100 when I first saw it, and I'm sure it will be again the next time.

Turns out it's going to be significantly higher than just my Top-100.:D

Anyway, I've been carefully working on this for the past little while. So far I've got 39 films ranked on the actual list and 27 more lined up for consideration.

I make a little change to the rankings from 11 and down almost every day, but I'm extremely happy with my Top 10.

Yeah.... okay....

I do agree that #9 is a little too high for OFOTCN. Somwhere in the Top-20 would be better.

What I really think is ridiculous was that Nurse Ratchet made the #5 spot on AFI's 50 villains. She was like 7 places ABOVE Alex DeLarge. Gah.....

Putting aside the fact that the AFI is completely stupid. Nurse Ratchet definitely deserves her place in top villains. That movie really screwed with my head. Ratchet really frightened me.

Yeah I don't know how I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna have a hard time prioritizing and then finding 100 movies that I clearly remember enjoying and having any replay value. Expect a few kung fu/foreign films.

I just listed movies as they came to my head. They're not really in order. Some of them, like Crank and Con-Air, I realize aren't very .... I don't know how to put this, "good" movies, but they're guilty pleasures. All the Arnold Schwarzenegger movies are guilty pleasures as well. If there are remakes of some of the movies, I'm probably referring to the original movie. And I know there are more than 100 movies, I just didn't feel like narrowing the list down.

I think about doing this but I never do.

Exactly.

I've got like 200 DVDs in my collection and I'd be hard press to pick 100 of them. Then let alone rank them.

Here's a secret:

Charlie's Angels is #4

HA!

I have movies I purchased and are still in the wrapping. Phantom of the opera, count of monte cristo.... couple others.

I think the other thing that would present a problem is that I have a lot of cheesy/campy movies in my collection. Some are so bad and cheesy that they're good.

And how do I rate these? By quality or by enjoyment?

Because while Philip Seymore Hoffman's Capote is a fantastic film...I would rather watch Billy Zane's The Phantom. The Shining is a classic....but I would rather watch Charlie's Angels.

Hmmmmmmmm.......
