The All-Movie Channel is doing a tribute to Jack Nicholson this month, and today they played One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I'd never seen it before. What a great movie.

Yes it is. It's on my list as number 14. Glad you finnaly saw it dude you would of been missing out otherwise.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is as important to watch for film fans as reading Watchmen is to comic fans.
Just sayin'.
No it's not. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is as important to watch for film fans as reading action comics 1# (even if it's a reprint) for comic fans.
That's a horrible analogy.
Wait are you saying action comics 1# is less important that Watchmen ?
No.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is analagous to Watchmen due to quality, not importance.
Action Comics 1 would be more analagous to Birth Of A Nation or something.
The fact is that was your watchmen comment was a dig at me (again) and I just pointed out right then and there are more important comics than it. E.g Action comics 1# could possibly be THE most important comic ever.
So was yours and yes i got your point.

Let me draw you a map (I'm not good at drawing maps):
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest = film
Watchmen = comic
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest = among the greatest films of all time
Watchmen = among the greatest comics of all time
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest = if you're a movie buff, then this better be on your top ten films
Watchmen = if you're a comic book fan, then this better be on your top ten comics
Thus, OFOTCN is to movie buffs as Watchmen is to comic book fans.
I think there may have been an easier way of explaining that.
I noticed the OFOTCN marathon the other day.
there is no point arguing over comics in this thread
I counted 'em up and it turns out I've seen 42 of the Top 100 films on IMDb but only 30 of the new AFI Top 100.
Then again, I don't think I said "yeah, but this film was pretty much crap" once, let alone 3 times, when reading the AFI list, which is more than I can say about the IMDb one.
I want to rework my list a little...
Out of the IMDB top 250 i've seen 103... but only 36 of the AFI Movies... But I'm working on watching the rest of the 100 Films with my friends... (we watch too many movies)
I went through everybody's list and picked all of the movies that I'm really interested and would like to see before I make my first draft Top 100. I'm also planning to see Amadeus, which I'm surprised isn't on anyone's list yet.
