The new Spider-Man cartoon to air on the CW.

I caught this this morning. I thought it was pretty cool. They paid some cool homages to the movies, too. Anyone catch those? Where Spidey was doing exact movements from the movie?

It was ok. Nothing too special.

I had only seen a small clip of the show way back, and I thought the art style was pretty unique and I was looking forwad to it. But now that I've seen the show...I kinda wish I hadn't. There really wasn't anything about the show that warranted clamoring over.

Now that I think about it...this was a wasted opportunity on Marvel's behalf. Instead of giving us this hybrid between Kim Possible and watered down 616-UU concepts, I would've rather they brought back MTV's animated Spider-Man.......or even better---a fully animated version of Ultimate Spider-Man done on the style of the video game.

Either one of those would've been a better product than the CW's newest venture.

Like I said...it's not bad---but there's nothing about the show to rave about. The voice-acting is waaaaaaay mediocre. The animation isn't that great. And even though it's only been 2 episodes, the story hasn't been that great either.

So yeah....if you missed it, don't feel too bad. You didn't really miss much. I'm questioning whether I want to continue watching?

Yeah I caught those. The one that really caught my eye was from SM2 where he was running up the side of the building and then dove over the corner to catch the train. I saw them use that in the cartoon and it made me smile.

.

Problems: Modern standards and Practices would not allow that happen and I'm not sure their is a mass market market for that, look at how fast the MTV cartoon was canceled so quickly.

I was done with this show once they showed Doc Conner's design having a robotic arm. I have no intentions to see this at all, which is rare for me

It's a prostetic arm actually.

it doesn't really do anything.

It was just a prostetic. He doesn't even do anything with it. Plus he's going to be the Lizard next week any way.

I was pleasantly surprised. The designs of the villains are a little underwhelming, but the writing's not bad.

I also like the set-up they're going with for Eddie. I like how he's going to probably be more like his Ultimate version than 616. Which is good.

Granted, so far he's a stand-up guy unlike his UU version.

That didn't stop him from showing up in the MTV Spider-man though.

But whatever, looks good so far.

That was 5 years, someone could be using the DD franchise in the near future and ultimately kingpin is more important as a DD villain than Spidey villain.

Probably they want to build up to the kingpin later, also they probably want this show to be different from the 90's show, which had kingpin in just about every other episode

No, Greg Weisman himself said he doesn't have the rights to kingpin.

You actually have a link to that?

Kingpin works well as a villain for both.

They're both Street heroes, he's the king of all the street level villains.
It works.
