Which books and creative teams? Are they replacing them?

I wish that this would prove to publishers that gimmicks don't work, but that won't be the case. I'm sure the publicity from New 52 at the beginning was enough to carry through until the next gimmick.

Although I don't think this gimmick was as gimmicky as most gimmicks, because they wisely included same day digital comics as part of the relaunch so I think ti did make things more accessible to new readers. Unfortunately the books (with exceptions) probably aren't good enough to keep those readers.

They pulled Jim Zub off of Birds of Prey and the guy launching Constantine off of it.

The new 52 is stupid n I dislike it

I think I just read that firestorm hawkman dcu presents deathstroke and sword of sorcery are all cancelled. With phantom stranger probably next to go. I think the new 52 is unravelling quickly. It's a shame. I love dc. But I don't think there is enough talent out there to sustain 52 quality monthlies. I would rather them streamline down to 30 solid titles And then focus on mini series when the right team and storyline come together.

I'm pretty sure June is the first month where there won't be 52 titles. And if there are it is just because they are rushing to fill the gap.

Welcome. I agree that the talent is too thin. And that's even with them putting low-tier talent on a lot of the books like they were.

How many books is Marvel putting out comparatively?

Is anyone else noticing an unusually high number of errors in DC's books? Punctuation errors, misspelled or missing words, etc...

Here's one of them from an issue of Talon, just because I happened to think to take a screen shot when I saw it:

It's happening a lot.

I shouldn't have to say why, but this is funny.

I just read the first two arcs of Batwoman. The first arc was so great. Everything about it was what I want out of a comic. The second arc was good as well, but not as good. The supporting cast might be my favorite part of the book, although Kate herself is written very well. How is the Wonder Woman arc? Better than the second one?

I can't speak for Wonder Woman but Batwoman kind of drops off after that second arc.

Hm, I first read Batwoman right when it was coming out. I lost interest partway through the long arc that introduces the DEO and filters the perspective through all the various supporting cast. Upon re-reading it, I've liked the entirety of the run (though I'm a few issues behind). It stays more or less an ensemble book so if that's to your tastes, you might not like it, but I think it's fantastic. It has the sort of broad character building and deep world creation that reminds me of Starman (and I think, once all is said and done, it's going to sit in the same class as Starman). The art goes back to that gorgeous, lush style of the early issues for the Wonder Woman arc and also develops a great dynamic between the two. I love Amy Reeder's art, but it doesn't strike me as a great fit for this book. JH Williams returning to art for the WW art is really a sight to behold, and it really builds on a lot of plot that's been building from the start. I say give it another try, and at least read through the Wonder Woman team-up arc. It's clear Blackman and Williams aren't just idling on this book. They have a distinct, long-form narrative built to play out over the course of their run and I suspect it's only going to get better from here (Though Williams has commented that DC has more or less hobbled his run by rejecting some of his story ideas, so I really hope we get to see it more or less how he intended).

The first issue by the new writer on Suicide Squad is actually pretty promising.

And the second issue was good too. So of course he's off the book at forever evil for matt kindt. Who's not bad at all, but Kot was doing good enough work I don't see why he's gone.

The third issue was great too. All in all, he'll have a FOUR ISSUE RUN. Didio says it was planned that way from the start, but that's ridiculous, and even if it were, Kot apparently was never told.

Great job scouting young talent, DC.

I really, really like Jae Lee's art on Batman Superman. The story is decent too, but that art is so good.

I might have to add this to my pulls but $3.99 is ridiculous; if it doesn't include a digital copy I'll just tradewait/

I just read about Williams and Blackman leaving Batwoman and I'm really sad. The fact that DC seems to have mandated last minute changes and not allowed for the marriage between Maggie and Kate is just wrong. This is and has been one of my favorite books on the shelves and seeing the creative team leave under these circumstances is incredibly disappointing. At this point I would almost rather see it outright cancelled after they leave than take my chances with another creative team.
