The Apple Products Thread

To be fair, that is the only actual complaint I've heard about it - it's a fantastic device but a poor phone.

As a phone I've never had a problem with it. Now, the phone service...that's another story.

ATT sucks balls but the iPhone is awesome.

AT&T is our only choice in Ohio. Well, there's Sprint, but it only works in the metro centers. Verizon didn't pay their lease to the owners of the towers for like the entirety of 2008, so the owners didn't reup the leases, so there are like gaping holes in coverage.

Expect to be surprised by Apple tablet

One analyst says Apple may unveil a product so surprising that it will leave the industry scrambling.

I'm still skeptical on the the whole tablet thing. The "industry experts" have been claiming Apple is on the verge of releasing a tablet since 2006.

My guess, the January 26th event will be the announcement of the next iPhone, iPhone OS 4.0 and Arrendale CPUs (quad cores) in the 15 & 17" MacBook Pros.

I just read (can't remember where now and I don't know if it was confirmed by the source) that they expect to announce iPhone developer kit 4.0 which allows for scaling of apps, as in, apps that are in the app store could be scaled to be used on a larger device.

That would be cool. I'd like to see something like the App Store for desktop/notebook applications.

Tablet announcement today. I'm geeked to see what this thing can do.

4th gen iPhone is a longshot but a slim possibility.

I will watch the keynote on the iPad when it comes on iTunes. Hopefully tonight?

Read about it. I'm interested. Though I won't get it when it comes out, I'll give it some months. $500 is the tagprice at launch.

iPad Tablet

9" display
1GHz Apple CPU (this is probably why they bought PA Semi)

16gb $499 or $629 (3G model)
32gb $599 or $729 (3G model)
64gb $699 or $829 (3G model)

All 3G models will be unlocked. You will also be able to get prepaid 3G access time, and AT&T hotspot access.

$14.95 for 250MB/mo
$29.95 for Unlimited/mo

I'm probably going to not get one until i see text book pricing, and if/when the comic companies start getting on board.

Sorry but this thing looks extremely stupid and pointless.

It's cool. I want one. But not at those prices. I don't even get the point of offering a 16 gb version, and I can't believe that Apple would make a separate line for 3G-enabled devices.

Lots of complaining about it...seems people were expecting it to be more than an oversize iPod Touch.

I'll wait for version 2, I guess.

Oh come on, it is an oversize iPod. That can read books.

This literally does nothing but make another device much larger, less portable, and twice as expensive. It's like Apple's gone so far that they're just going to start regressing now and making technology that's less advanced than what came before it.
