That's a reasonable guess about the priest, as for the girl: I would like to see her make a reappearance but who knows?
Also, is this story still in flashback from chapter 2? Or are we past that part?

Has anyone read "Shiki"? It's got a very Salem's Lot feel to it, it's not bad once you get used to somewhat disjointed art.

The beginning to the series was very good, and I stopped reading when I heard it was canceled prematurely. But there was a recent news item that it's getting the ending it deserved, so I'm rereading it.

There's a point in the story where you feel all dirty reading it because you realize it has a sexual undertone of kids reaching puberty.

So I've been letting this get away from me of late. But I promise I'll do better from now on. Today won't be any specific issues, but rather the series as a whole since the last time. I'll start up the weekly format again following this weeks release.
Bleach - All Zaraki. All the time. He and Scythey McGee have been chopping at each other for a few issues now. Not much else to report.

Naruto - All Sasuke. All the time. He and Itachi have been Ninjutsuing each other for a few issues now. This was of course proceeded by several issues of Genjutsuing each other. Some of it's been pretty cool and Sasuke's counter for Ametarasu was brilliant in it's simplicity. We also learned the true history of the Uchiha clan, Madarame in particular, and what Itachi's goal has been from the get go. Sasuke's eyes. To replace his own before they go blind. That's why he wanted Sasuke to become strong, so his eyes would be nice and strong when Itachi plucked them out of his head. The fight is nearing the end and they're both out of chakra, but Sasuke claims his next attack will finish the fight. Some really excellent chapters.

One Piece - ****in' Houde was right. Dead Bones Brooke joins the crew as the musician after deciding that his whale buddy can wait a few more years for him. He also reveals he had a bounty of 33 million on his head. I believe that places him between Franky and Nami on the bounty chart. Sanji and Robin learned about Zoro's sacrifice. And the gang receives a scrap of paper that will lead them to Lola's mom. Who is a big deal, I guess. Luffy remembers he got a similar paper from Ace. Ace's is burning. Lola tells him that means that Ace is dying. Guess we know where the gang is going next.

Lola's Mom was important only because she lives in the Merman town which was suppose to be their next destination.

They've been stabbing each other too.
This has been way better than the Jiraya fight, and I liked Itachi's reason for manipulating Sasuke.
I wonder how they are going to find him since they don't have a way to backtrack.

How did I forget the stabbing?
It is better than the Jiraiya fight and I love Itachi's motivation. When they introduced Madarame I was very afraid they'd turn Itachi into a sympathetic figure. Someone who had been manipulated by a great evil. I even feared the possibility of Spikeification.
I'm thrilled that he's just a twisted **** who wanted power.
He said that he's going to travel all the way across the world and return to the mountain, a la Magellan.

Man, I need to catch up on One Piece and Naruto. Still not sold on Bleach, though.
